Ireland were simply awesome against the Aussies yesterday. Geordan Murphy's try was one of the best tries I've seen in years. The Aussies were lucky, Ireland could easily have had another 2 or 3 tries.

The Aussie coach had the usual excuse for their rare Northern Hemisphere trashing, namely.......the weather !..... Yes, the weather was awful, & obviously suits 6 nation teams better.... But, the Irish were hoping for DRY conditions, as it suits their attacking style better.

This Irish team are now hot favourites for the 6 nations, and to be honest, I think they will take some stopping !.......Happy day's !

I would be very suprised if you didn't win the grand slam.

Ireland v France will be a very interesting match.

And at this rate, you will take some stopping come the World Cup.

Keep playing us on a more regular basis and you'll go up in the rankings:(

It was a very good performance but I'm a bit disappointed we didn't push on more in the 2nd half. The conditions were terrible at that stage but when the sin binnings made it 14-13 we should've done more to take advantage of the extra space. We did have lots of good possession so I think we could've done a little bit better. Good australian defence mind.

Lets not get carried away about grand slams just yet because we start off in cardiff and thats a really tricky game. And France are still a good team, theres not much shame in losing to that all black side at the moment. I think people are writing the french off too easily. 2 years ago we were being touted for the 6 nations but still France came and beat us at Lansdowne Rd without too much hassle.

I'm nervous about cardiff but once we get that out of the way the games and atmosphere should be brilliant at croker!

This is our (Ire) third World Cup in a row with Argies in the group stage. We were lucky to beat ye last time, & of course ye deservingly beat us 7 years ago.
I have to agree. Argies always seeem to get a tough group, but no doubt this will improve as the Argies are now an emerging rugby power.

I think it was very small-minded of the Southern Hemisphere teams to refuse to allow Arg. to compete in their tri-nations! I would love to see you boy's join us, & make it a 7 nations!

Anyway, what is club rugby like in Arg. ?.. Are there many clubs ?..... Attendences ?....professional or amateur ?... General public awareness etc.?

there are a lot of rugby clubs and that`s a major problem cause we are not that populated, rugby is not that popular, so the attendances to the games is really low

that conspires to make rugby profesional so it`s only amateur (the only pros we have are the ones who play abroad)
that conspires to let everyone in cause the ones that play rugby must have enough money to train during work days

That is pretty much the world cup mate!

Ireland 9/1 for the world cup. Worth a punt I would say, definitely e/w anyway....
