Welcome to the final of the IPL draft between @Boycott and @Akash / @2mufc0 Games here are during the players' IPL prime alone. Prime here refers to performances over at least a whole season and not single one off performances in different IPL games. IPL 2017 performances are however not considered

Pitch is a good t20 pitch. A batting pitch with short boundaries.

Team Akash/2mufc0

1. Virat Kohli (C)
2. Rahul K
3. Rohit Sharma
4. Shane Watson
5. JP Duminy
6. Kedar Jadhav (WK)
7. Chris Morris
8. Hardik Pandya

11 . Yuzvendra Chahal

Batting
  • A very good and proven opening partnership to start things off. The two of them will build a good base while still maintaining a good run rate.
  • The Middle Order - A middle order of Rohit Sharma, Shane Watson and Duminy is pretty much world class and doesn't get much better. And coming on the back of Kohli they will have the base to get going straight away.
  • Lower Order - Morris, Pandya and Starc are all ideal players to have in this role. Morris is an extremely capable batsman with an average of over 35 and a strike rate of over 150. With the depth of batting in front of them all 3 can come in afford to slog it out of the grand.
Bowling

  • Pace - Not many seam attacks can match mine in this draft. Bhuvi, Starc and Morris are lethal both with the new ball and bowling at the death. All 3 are wicket takers with quite good economy rates. And now in addition to the 3 I have Watson as well who's pretty much the best all rounder in IPL history.
  • Spin - In the spin department I have another wicket taker in Chahal. He's played most of his cricket on a pitch not particularly forgiving to spin bowlers or bowlers in general but his variation and bravery in flighting the ball means he's almost always in the wickets. Complimenting him will be Duminy who has a more than acceptable record. An economy rate of just above 7 with over 100 overs bowled in the IPL is very good going. You can count on him bowl 2/3 tight overs in the middle.

Team Boycott
  1. Brendon McCullum
  2. David Warner
  3. Sachin Tendulkar
  4. Suresh Raina
  5. MS Dhoni
  6. Yuvraj Singh
  7. Shreyas Iyer
  8. Piyush Chawla
  9. Mitchell McClenaghan
  10. Ryan Harris
  11. RP Singh
Pace bowlers: McClenaghan, RP Singh, Ryan Harris
Spinners: Chawla and Yuvraj
  • McCullum has 13 50s and two centuries to his name including an explosive century in the inaugural match of IPL. Another player who scores all around the park, his clean striking and fearlessness will propel my innings.
  • Warner is the fifth highest run scorer in IPL history and the only non-Indian in the top five. Excluding 2017, he previously won the leading run scorer award in the 2015 season with 562 runs. Also he's fourth in the list for most sixes. Powerful, destructive and extremely difficult to bowl to because of his vast array of strokes. Stop him if you can.
  • Tendulkar has 13 50s and a century to his name. Leading run scorer in the 2010 season with 618 runs. Considering he was in the twilight years when IPL was formed his record is excellent showing his adaptability to the format known as the 'young man's game'. He is one of the greatest of all time after-all.
  • Raina is the highest run scorer in IPL history with 4540 at an average of 34 and S/R of nearly 140. Inventive and busy left hander he can both accelerate the innings at a rate of knots or play a steady role and go big near the end. The perfect number 3 for this format and a match winner. 31 50s and 1 100.
  • Dhoni - not much to say. 3560 runs, almost 38 average, s/r of 136. Captain cool.
  • Yuvraj is a match-winner with bat and ball. 12 50s, S/R of 131, can play an anchor role if needed as well as going ballistic. Then with the ball his accurate left arm spin will be very useful in the middle overs to tighten my opponents innings. He has two hat-tricks to his name so can even do more than that.
  • Iyer won the Emerging Player award for the 2015 season when he racked up 439 runs at 33.76 average + 128 S/R. A young player whose exuberance will be a great addition to the destruction the senior players above will cause.
  • Chawla is the fourth highest wicket taker in IPL history with 126 at an average of 25, an economy rate of 7.63 and s/r of just over 20. Reliable match winning spinner.
  • McClenaghan has been one of the stars of IPL in recent years. Excluding 2017, he has taken 35 wickets in his first two campaigns.

  • Harris as usual will be the wily niggling seamer whose experience will be valuable. Peak, fit Harris pulled up great stats

  • RP Singh was one of the original star players of IPL and the leading wicket taker of 2010. Left arm fast with the ability to swing the ball, as a new ball opener he'll have a good time.

Akash wins this.

Akash team looks more balanced tbf. Raina, Yuvi and Iyer albeit excellent batsmen arent great at coming in 6 or 7. Morris and Jadhav are better finishers

Boycott got slightly better batting among the two but Akash got more balance.
