It's in the <a href="http://www.gazzetta.it/statics/scalcio/pp_3.0.655467523.html" target="_blank">Gazetta </a>

too bad it's not Chivu on that photo <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Chivu's agent, Giovanni Becali: "We had a very serious offer from Real. But the player was impressed by the demands of his Ajax coach Ronald Koeman and sports director Leo Beenhakker. He almost joined Real, but they put off talks. I gave my word to their president Florentino Perez that I would do nothing until May 15, giving them first option, even though big Italian names such as Juventus, Internazionale and Roma were very interested. But on May 15, Real sports director Jorge Valdano asked for two more weeks to give them time to raise money for the Chivu deal. They offered me money to agree to the new terms, but after speaking to the player, we decided it was better he stayed at Ajax next season." he added: "The decision to stay was 99 per cent his. Chivu showed that he still has love for a club in a world that seems to be increasingly dominated by money." & Chivu: "I am happy to stay at Ajax, where I feel very comfortable. I won two important trophies last season and we are confident of a good run in the Champions' League. There will be offers next season, so I'm not worried about my future. I think the squad would understand if I left, but I would disappoint myself - perhaps I will stay even longer than a year."

Chivu: "At this moment in time I’m not sure whether I will be leaving Holland but if a club offered the right amount to Ajax for me then anything is possible. Inter are one of the most prestigious clubs in the world and it would be a dream come true if I could play in a team with Ronaldo."
Both these quotes are dated today, but the source may be older, either way that is one confused guy. But it looks like he'll stay at Ajax another year.
