not good, not good at all <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" /> <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

I'm surprised that he's not taking roy and ruud with him, these sorts of injuries are the ones they usually get the player to play through if its a must win game - sounds like they're either not taking the boavista game seriously, or think that it will be a relatively easy, but physical, game since boavista are already out. I'd expect to see Becks Scholes Butt Giggs in the midfield and Forlan to make his European debut up front with Ole. It should be enough.

team news:

Juan Sebastian Veron will miss United's clash with Boavista after being sent for a scan amid fears he has broken a bone in his foot.
The Argentinian midfielder was left out of the side that beat West Ham at the weekend after taking a kick on the heel against Bayern Munich last week.
Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed: "Seba got a knock on the heel in the game against Bayern last week.
"It's pretty delicate so we are sending him for a scan and hopefully there is nothing broken."
United will also be without Ruud van Nistelrooy and Roy Keane, who have not jetted out with the rest of the squad today.
Ferguson's side have already qualified for the quarter-finals but must at least equal Bayern's result with Nantes tomorrow to top the group and avoid the other European big guns in the last eight.
Ferguson has been looking to rest Keane - who has a long-standing knee problem - for a number of weeks but a hip injury rules him out of the game.
Van Nistelrooy will be missing with the Holland striker returning home to rest a slight groin injury.
Youngsters Michael Stewart and Bojan Djordjic have been included in the travelling party.

I have a horrible feeling that Alex will field youngsters in this game, and we'll lose it, despite throwing on senior players as subs with just 20 mins to go. It might be traditional to do this when you're already through, but I really think it would be much better to come top and avoid Deportivo/Real Madrid until as late as possible so that we can build up momentum and confidence.

id like to win the group, too ... we havent won a cl group for 2 years

And while I hope you're wrong I have a horrible feeling you just could be right! And I really think it important that we miss the group winners in particular Real Madrid.

But with Keano, Rudd and Veron, and Johnson . . .

Who knows . . . . <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

I do hope we win tomorrow ... so that we WIN the group but that is all ... obviously i feel nervous at the chance of facing REAL or DEPOR over say Bayer leverkusen(sp) but i will not fear anyone

Deportivo have been very good this season but we were better than them on 2 occasions but lost I would love the chance to beat them when it counted !!!!
As for REAL ... who ever wants to win it MUST beat this team IMO so i hope we just get fecking stuck in if we do those BASTARDS !

More worried about SEBA ???? <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

I'm not worried about Seba at all when Scholes can put in a performance like that. Keano is more of a worry, but I think Butt will be up to it, the west ham game was good practice for him and he'll play the holding role just fine.

Whoops - And of course RVN, but lets hope this is the opportunity for Forlan to rise to the occasion and get his first goal for us!

yea sorry i didn't mean worried about SEBA for he BOAVISTA match .... couldn't give a feck about them 1st 2nd i don't care as long as we really go for it in the quarters who ever we play.

I mean i'm worried about SEBA in the long term ... broken bones don't sound too good <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

It is a bit worrying but we still have a good squad--if Beckham, Giggs, Scholes and Butt play.

Although I think we must try to win this game, it doesn't mean that we must win it at any cost. I hope our priorty is still in the league, where we can't afford any more mistake (no matter how little it is). We should field our best lineup in Bovista, but excluding those players that have injury and below 90% fit.

If we don't win the group, isn't there a chance we could face the Arse?

Sorry, forget that. I think we could only face them in the semis.
