Indiana Jones

top

watched the first three this week

taking my son who is 8 to see it

same age roughly that I was when I saw it at the pictures

saw it today, its alright wont say anything to spoil it

Saw it earlier. All i'll say is that if thought they couldn't make it more far fetched than finding the holy grail and eternal life etc, then you are very......very wrong.

Amazing film if you don't take it seriously though, which, you shouldn't, with it being Indiana Jones.

Exactly, i've seen people criticisng the plot for being too unrealistic, thats missing the whole point of this film and the others, i thoroughly enjoyed it.

Just got back from the cinema, was quite impressed. It does what it says on the tin and is exactly what you would expect from a remake. Not as good as the first two, but who would expect it to be?

Worth a trip on bargain Tuesday or Orange Wednesday, otherwise i would not fork out the money and would wait for the DVD/Blu-Ray, but then i am a tight cnut who does not generally like surrounding himself by some of the cannon fodder found in your local cineworld.

Just saw it tonight.....yes its a bit far fetched but Indiana Jones was never completely realistic.

I loved Indiana Jones as a kid so i have to say i enjoyed this one, even my girlfriend did and she ain't a fan

if they plan to continue with a few more movies i think Shia is a good choice aswell

Indiana Jones And the Ayatollah's Turban?

Will be going to see it later tonight.

Have fond memories of the original three and Last Crusade had the right ending if it was goign to be the finale, so i'm hoping it doesn't ruin that and lives up to its past.

What about this idea that they plan to do a fifth movie? Does it set that up and do you see any potential for it? Or are Lucas and Spielberg going to dilute the franchise terribly, bit like with the Star Wars trilogy many would say.

Just got back from seeing it.

That has got to be a crime against cinema, Lucas and Spielberg should be shot.

I will try and bury it at the back of my mind and rememebr the Indiana Jones films as they should be.

Wow. Not good then... i was looking forward to seeing this as well.

Doesnt mean it's shit just that he thinks it's shit, if I let a bad movie review ruin my movie experience I would never enjoy a movie, that said I rarely due but that is more down to the movie

Well, obviously its not going to stop me from seeing it... i was more commenting on the apparent extent of his dislike.

I watched it with the girlfriend last night and we both enjoyed it.

Its not as good as the original three but still knocks the socks off of many of the recent so called adventure flicks.

I give it 2 thumbs up.

I watched it last night too

As an Indiana Jones fan, I have to say that i wish they'd have taken another 10 years to get the script right. Talk about trying to cash in on a franchise

Poor script, poor dialogue, poor acting. It actually felt like watching footage of some actors hamming it up at an adventure park. Ray Winstone was awful as was William Hurt. Rubbish. Even Ford hammed a few lines up at the beginning as if he'd forgotten how to get into the Indy character.

The only saving grace was Shia LeBouef and Harrison Ford (when he remembered how to play Indy after all). I thought the chemistry between them was good.

VERY disappointed

The script is one of the best things about it. The dialogue is very witty at times and doesn't stand still waiting for idiots to catch up with it. All in all if someone asked me if it was a good film, I'd be hard pressed to say yes. If they asked me if I enjoyed it or not, I'd tell them that I enjoyed it immensely.

Rubbish spammy. good script my arse. The major part in the movie would have been more in align with a different Spielberg movie..not Indy. It just didn't fit.

The Russians were rubbish not as scary as the nazis

Marion's character went from strong to weak in 2 seconds flat. Rubbish

Ray Winstones character, well, im not sure what the hell he was even in the movie for

Absolute pants. I think im actually angry about it.

I'm going to go see this tomorrow probably. Sounds like it should be good

Each to their own. I loved it :D

My sister also came to watch it with us and she had never seen the original trilogy before. She described it as okay but in the second half of the move just became "silly".

However others who i've spoken to who were fans of the Indy series going into it, well they came out let down and all the more believing that things should have been left as they were.

Call me over nostalgic but a cameo from John Rhys-Davies in the new film wouldn't have gone a miss as well.

Yep, and to be so wayward with Marion's character, already established in the story from before, odd.

If there had to be an IJ IV, it dserved better.

I agree about Marion, Winstone and the Russians being rubbish, but the dialogue between the kid and Indy is easily one of the films good points.

Overall I'll reiterate what I said before, not really a good film, but very enjoyable to watch at the cinema, a popcorn movie with some nostalgia sprinkled on top.

Which translated to you will enjoy if you are fanboy otherwise you won't.

They will probably do the fifth movie with Shia LaBeouf replacing the original Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford.

I thought he was excellent in this one, probably one of the most talented young actors out there. He was brilliant in Transformers and Disturbia as well.

I wasn't impressed with the movie though, it was far from being as good as the previous three episodes, lacked the whole atmosphere and was generally kind of naive. The script wasn't very interesting either.

Compared to the previous three episodes, obviously. Because all in all it was a fine movie.

Just watched it. Can't believe that's the best they could come up with.

Christ. What a shit storyline.

indy 4 was crap

the the whole thing him being a CIA operative during WW2......please give me a break.
I know what they were trying to do, drawing on pupular culture from the 50s; aliens, paranoia, communism. However that is not indiana jones, the alien thing just didnt work for me.
I like how the skull is insanley magnetic in the begining then they toss it in a burlap sack and it suddenly becomes as magnetic as a piece of wood.
They worked on the script for about 10years and this was the best they could do.
Even though a game has been made about it, atlantis would have been such a better concept for a indy movie.
Also Blanchetts russian-english is terrible, my fiancee who speaks russian and have lived in russia pointed this out. She uses the brittish o when attempting to do a russian-english accent. Way to go Kate, hell even I could tell it was terrible.

oh and the tarzan scene, worst scene ever in an indy movie.

I totally disagree with this comment. The previous Indiana Jones films dealt with Nazi Germany when that was at the hieght of panic. I was not surprised to see Communism and the Russians were used. Its part of the Jones films.

However i do agree about your points like the magnetism and the aliens. I guessed aliens when the box had Roswell written on it.

The film was half decent. I have seen many films which were better and many that were worse. I think the film was going to fail in terms of fans regardless because it was a big ask to make another Indy. Much like the star wars films. If you actually looked at Episode 1-3 as individual films and didnt take into account episode 4-6 then i think they would be classed as good films in their own right.

The best part of the film was when Shia and Harrison were on screen together. They had real chemistry and i think the film was worth seeing just for that alone.

In the Indy Series it was probably the worst (although i wasnt the biggest fan of Temple of Doom) however as a stand alone film it was decent.

I'm glad I decided to watch it.
Indy was crap but I saw the trailer of
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

dear lord, what film is coming...can't feckin wait

Worse than the sword fight on top of speeding cars through the flat motorways of the Amazon?

that and the tarzan scene were rubbish. this missus liked the sword fight though.

liked the ants scene though. that was typical Indiana Jones.

The alien thing really didn't work but that apart it was a decent effort. I tend to agree that Atlantis would have been better subject matter.

Such a mix of opinions for this film, not sure what to make of it all, was really looking forward to this.

Just have to see it and make my own mind up.

I'll be happy if it is at least better than Temple of Doom, I hated that one.

best thing about the movie was the death of many ruskies
the use of the word ruskie

and the dark knight trailer  before the movie started
