To be announced on 13th.

What're your opinions Indian caftardians...who'll make the cut and who'll get the boot.

My 15 would be, in no particular order

Tendulkar
Dravid
Ganguly
Sehwag
Yuvraj
Kaif
Dhoni
Karthik
Kumble
Sreesanth
Zaheer
Pathan
Harbhajan
Uthappa
Munaf

Batsmen
Rahul Dravid
Robin Uthappa
Sachin Tendulkar
Sourav Ganguly
Virender Sehwag
Yuvraj Singh
Suresh Raina

Wicketkeepers
Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Dinesh Karthik

Seamers
Zaheer Khan
Irfan Pathan
Ajit Agarkar
Munaf Patel

Spinners
Harbhajan Singh
Anil Kumble

I'm not sure how important Karthik is since Dravid can keep if Dhoni gets injured. Can pick Sreesanth in his place. i don't like Raina much but I can't stand Kaif any more. He's been given a thousand chances.

Kaif is more experienced and had an excellent tour of WI.I picked Karthik as a batsman who can keep. His performances in SA when arguably better players perished so easily were exemplary.I picked Sree because he's a better bowler than Agarkar and one of the best in the team at present.

Sehwag has to be taken, can't see him being left out, non performances or not.

Same as Mehro except Dinesh take Suresh Rainas' place.

Sreesanth as an extra bowler.

Sorry I would take Sehwag in place of Ganguly, due to his very obvious weakness of bouncers.

WI have bouncy pitches.

Kaif might have experience but I just can't see him as a reliable batsman. You're right about his tour to the WI though. That might be the sole reason he gets picked.

Agarkar is easily the best ODI bowler we have. No other bowler looks as likely to pick up wickets as he does. His ODI record speaks for itself. There's not a chance in hell that he'll get dropped.

Kaif in place of Saurav and Sreesanth in place of Agarkar...

How did we manage to screw up the game yesterday? Couldn't score 252 in 50 overs.... When I fell asleep Sachin and Ganguly were taking the Sri Lankans apart at a run-rate of 7.something and the required ** was 4.5. I went to bed feeling assured that the game would be over by the 45th over.

I was impressed by Sreesanth yesterday.

I'm happy with that, looks a pretty balanced squad...

Glad Dinesh was included. I would think this might be Sehwags last chance to shine on a big stage. Taking Irfan is showing faith, must be a great morale booster for him after a torrid year, might just give him some much needed confidence.

I don't follow cricket much. Can we win the WC?

India have as good a chance as any especially when their batters get it right but I feel the lack of decent paced quicks will be their undoing as teams will go at them after being subjected to the spin play of anil and harbahjan.

I actually have more faith in the pacers but fear the spinners may struggle. We've got an excellent pace attack in the making. Thats the issue, i dont think its good enough as a whole at this point in time. Two or three years from now maybe. But you never know, if they all strike form together during this tournament we stand a very good chance.

What 11 would you start with?

For me,
Ganguly
Uthappa
Dravid
Sachin
Karthik
Dhoni
Agarkar
Zaheer
Harbhajan
Kumble
Sreesanth

Logical squad I suppose though I don't see how it matters. We're probably good enough for the semis.

Like most things in Cricket, Australia will probably end up winning it while the rest of discuss how close we were and how one extra batsman/spinner/pacer would've made the difference.

Such a long tail Zing, you have also left out one of the best batters in world cricket in Yuvraj. I also think Karthik is a special talent, but have to sacrifice him for balance of the team - although I would replace him for Ganguly if he struggles with the wickets in WI.

Sehwag can replace one of the spinners as he is able to share the bowling burden with Sachin or even Yuvraj.

I have no idea if Pathan has sorted his problems out, if so, he could replace Sreesanth.

Uthappa
Ganguly
Sachin
Yuvraj
Dravid
Sehwag
Dhoni
Pathan
Agarkar
Harbhajan/Kumble
Zaheer

I'd go with that. I haven't seen much of Uthappa though, how good is he?

He's a very explosive batsman. Great for power play overs.

Sounds good.

Btw, will you be at the game this Saturday?

I forgot about Yuvraj, completely.

I guess your team's better but I think that would leave us with a very poor bowling line-up.

I can't wait, either way. I'll watch all the games with my friends once my exams end(March 17th). The super 8 should have some cracking games.

True.

That's because we lack a genuine all rounder.

I actually think Sachin, Sehwag and to a lesser extent Yuvraj might be quite useful on the bowling front in WI.

I dont understand this whole idea of trying to justifying Sehwag's inclusion by saying he can be the fifth bowler and all. He wasnt even a very good part time spinner. Sachin is better than him.

I would play Pathan as the 5th bowler, although really i would probably open with him because thats where he does most of his damage. And he's probably at this point likely to make more runs than Sehwag.

Sehwag/Uthappa
Ganguly
Dravid
Sachin

Karthik/Sehwag

From the team they've selected, I'd go with that for most games. I'm not too thrilled with so many poor fielders for a one day game but after all the trialing recently none out of Kaif, Raina seemed to make their case.

Still, personally I'd have liked to seen both of them in place of Sehwag and Ganguly. Hit or miss but at least, we'd have an energetic youthful side.

Probably. It's not like there's a lot of competition or performances to match to push them off the team, but it's my feeling that if we were to snatch it...it would be with players more suited to the allround one-day game.

There's no way Ganguly could've been dropped.

We would've had a Bangaal Revolt

I reckon they'd just pen loads of deeply intellectual poems and essays instead.
