Yup. But to be fair we've been a very good team in the recent past and we have actually done better on the big stage than most of the teams in the recent past but i think the South Africa tour, the champions trophy were all indicators that its just not working out atm. The home series hid a lot of flaws. For me the biggest is relying of a bunch of greats who are probably all past their prime and others who still have to find their feet proper.

Possibly 5 years ago but the current English team lacks a lot of class, and I would say only 3-4 players are world class. Vaughan is a crap ODI batsman, Joyce is pretty new and has looked decent but certainly isn't world class, Ian Bell is young and classy but inconsistent, Pietersen IS world class, ******gwood I personally like and would call fringe world class, Flintoff is obviously a class allrounder although needs to bat with more maturity and adapability. The rest of your team bar James Anderson [and possibly Simon Jones], are pretty substandard.

Indians on the other hand do have extremely good players, although something isn't going right for them at the moment. To go foward I think the likes of Sehwag, Tendulkar and possibly Ganguly need to step down, and start blooding your youngsters.

So you hate the team because they are sponsored by Pepsi? Very few expected them to win the WC. I don't anyone who did. But yes we did expect them to make it to the next round and put in a good fight. And no matter what happens, even if we lose horribly we root for the team and stand behind them not cheer when they lose. Spastic.

Why don't they deserve the money exactly? I've never seen you protest against what Rooney is earning or what some of the best sportsmen earn from advertising all over the world? India's cricket crazy and we are good at cricket why shouldn't the players reap the profits?

even now its just a 3 tier system .. and some of the first team regulars are in the lowest wage category where as the not so consistent performers are getting the most ..

I don't live abroad. I'm only temporarily studying here and I come home every year for 2-3 months.

It is not only India that makes "superstars" out of upcoming sportsmen. It happens the world over in every sport. India is only now waking up to it. It may not be right but it is accepted.

It just seemed like everyone here was happy that India had lost. Didn't expect the Indians to join that party.

the cricket team is good on paper , and might perform at home . but we havent performed outside the subcontinent ever ..EVER .. the 1-1 test series draw against Australia in aus was the highlight of our overseas travels ..

but then again .. BCCI are not asking you for the money . if they can afford the wages then its their wish ..
