First test drawn. We should have won it easily. We dominated for 4 days and then lost the plot on the first session of the fifth.. Credit to the pakistani batsman but we were awful. We still look the better side and it will take something special from pakistan to actually win the series. A few things we have to improve upon.

First of all the middle order.. the top is settled with sachin, sehwag, dravid going very well.. but ganguly and laxman need to perform. Thats the weekest part of our batting line up and now for far too long ganguly is just a captain.. he needs to perform witht he bat as well.. and laxman needs to, because the two extremely talented youngsters, yuvraj and kaif are waiting to claim his pace.. and they are our best fielders.. so laxman really needs to do far better than he is.

Seconly, our inability to wipe of the tail.. for the last ten years this has been our biggets problem.. whenever we used to finally get through the opppositions top order the lower order would frustrate us like hell.. in recent years wev rid ourselves of that problem.. but its risen again.. Harbhajan singh just has to play.. along with pathan hes our best bowler and on indian pitches theres noone like him.. he should always be picked ahead of kumble.. but really we should be picking both of them in india. And lastly pathan for some reason is controlling his speed.. maybe its because of his injury but hes bowling around 78 miles/per while his normal speed is 85-90 miles/hr...

Anyways enough of that.. hope we batter the pakistanis in the remaining test... Cmon INDIA!!!

 i know what you mean.. things have changed. Earlier i could watch almost any cricket. Now its not the same. I couldnt get myself to watching any other teams play. But Indian cricket is different. Its sort of in the blood i guess. That will never go.

I watched when we went to pakistan but since aussies trounced us at home, I lost any hope of India establshing itself as No.1, before that I really thought we could topple aussies from the top spot. Now I have pretty much accepted that Indian team will always be inconsistent and blow hot n cold.
Another reason being one of the main reasons I watched cricket was Sachin, I dont enjoy watching him play anymore.

yeah but thats not really the purpose of supporting your team is it.. iv
followed indian cricket for 9 years now.. and for the first 7 years we were an awful team which was capable of winning only at home on the dusty broken up spinners tracks.. we were a very medriocre team.. In the last two years things have finally changed..

The match fixing scandal was probabily the best thing to happen to indian cricket.. we got rid of people like azharuddin and jadeja and there was an influx of youth.. ganguly being made captain, youngsteres like yuvraj, zaheer etc coming through brought about a huge change in the indian cricket team... today theres a different aggression and mentality to our team and im proud of that.. And now we are finally among the top 2 or 3 teams in the world and thats a big thing.. some fine tuning and some time..and we can seriously challenge australia.. youv also got to remember the team occupying the no.1 slot is one of the best in the history of the game..

As for the inconsistancy..that is bound to come with a young team.. the australian seires was a pity because it was ruined by off the field distractions.. things like the pitch, the selection, BCCI politics, contract systems seemed more important than the cricket itself.. i honestly believed we had a great chance against the aussies but missed out on a big chance of beating them.. the 3rd test (i think) proved to be decisive.. we wouldav won it on the fifth day had rain not interrupted..

Conratulations to Sachin on reaching the 10,000 run milestone, he has been not one of the greats of modern cricket , he has simply been the greatest, and its not a biased opinion.

Thanks for all the great times.......

I have been watching for 13 years now. 92 world cup was the first time I started watching.
I still watch but no longer I make an effort to free myself or make sure that I have access to live coverage. Like today I was at home, so watched. Earlier even at school, I used to carry a radio and listen in middle of class, now I cant think of going through that stuff.
Anyway, today we threw it away at the end, handed them 3 wickets

were in trouble now.. pakistan look set to take a lead.

what is most depressing are these indian pitches.. earlier at least they used to help spinners.. now theyr just batting tracks, thats all.. no turn, no bounce, no swing.. its too easy piling 400 +

i wont be surprised if this test series is decided by who fecks up first on these batting tracks.. because its going to take a poor batting display to really lose on these tracks..

congrats sachin on 10,000. great achievement...and still plenty of cricket left in him.

great comback by us but a feckin idiotic decision by bucknor. He always seems to screw up against us. Sachin was playing soo well. The best form hes shown for a long time. looked like one of those days when he was just going to turn the game and take it away from pakistan. Awful decision from such a highly reputed umpire. First they made them play in bad light and then this.

And once again its laxman and ganguly. Iv spoken abt them. This is their chance to finally redeem themeslves. Although im not very positive.

Ganguly and laxman wont last 15 overs in the morning session

Its about time ganguly is shown the axe in test team, he is been fecking awful

dravid and kartik were excellent.. ganguly did as was expected.. i dont think he can be sacked because he is very infuential..but he should be given a warning for the next series or something like that..

Pakistan have done well. 95/1 right now. They might actually have a chance to win this. :nervous:
