A new Cafer has asked me to help them front a thread they have launched in the newbie section here in the main forums.

However not having access i am restricted somewhat, either need access to the Newbie Forum myself temporarily or aid from someone who already does.

Why would they ask someone who can't read their forum?

I can copy and past things out here if you tell me what you're after or you could always log out temporarily which would allow you to view the newbie forum and copy the thread.

In answer to your first question, i guess they dont' know. And secondly the member in question saw that in the past i have showin similar support to him on the topic.

I'll PM you the info if you dont' mind, easier.
 
It used to work like that. Never too sure which way the switch is set these days as there's pros and cons to having the newbie visible to guests. Keeping it visible it's not then a shock to new sign ups when they find themselves locked in an invisible rubber room but keeping it invisible starves any of the clowns in there of attention and makes it pointless for bannees to keep returning to continue old arguments while making it harder for our friends on other forums to poach.

You're not supposed to be able to. It does sometimes happen though and we can't figure out how, we've even had the odd unexpected visitor in the mod room and our other ultra secret forum areas.

See the cons in post number 7. If you could all see the newbies then we'd have even more crap from the likes of Revelz looking to reregister, stir up shit, post crap (often literally) and continue old arguments. The invisibility starves the idiots of publicity and means that when they register to vandalise the site it's never actually seen outside of the newbies.

Making it visible also encourages people on the main boards to bitch and moan about the quality of the newbies, laugh at their threads and e-bully people who are still finding their feet on the forum.

We have trouble enough with the newbie - please for the love of God don't anyone re-register.
