IMDB Top rated TV Shows...

For all those TV show addicts like myself, here it is....

I'm sure we all know that we don't agree with almost half those names up there, and that's down to it being voted by the general public who'd rather watch American Idol than Band of Brothers....but still..

Useful for someone like myself who needs to consistently find news shows after exhausting all the one's you've already watched.....

Thanks zain.It's a very useful list for me too.I've watched some of the best shows (The Wire,The sopranos,The shield) ever consecutively and now anything else pales in comparison :(
 
I've seen the ones you have mentioned (besides Sopranos)....but I urge you and every single other person to watch The West Wing...
The greatest tv show of all time for me personally....


If people here are into American Football (as i have just gotten into the last 1 month or so..), I also recommend Friday Night Lights.

The order of these things are always bizarre, but a useful list for finding new stuff to watch all the same.

Guess what Zain.I just finished downloading the first 3 seasons because someone who knew my tastes highly recommended to me
 
Its depressing how I've seen everything I wanted to see from that list.

Obviously there's some glaring omissions but it's not a bad list in fairness. Just disappointing that I've seen a lot of the stuff on there and it's now difficult to find new shows that are worth watching.

It's interesting to see Arrested development so far out in front though in votes, but I guess you can't underestimate the impact DVD sales and word of mouth can have on the popularity of a cancelled TV show.
 
Lets face it after twin peaks it's all downhill :cool:

It's tedious but it can be done. Check out individually the ratings of all the TV shows and compile a list. You need to have a lot of time on your hands but

It's not really miles behind though is it?...

Futurama has an average score of 9.1, Only Fools has 9.0 and Black Adder and Father Ted right behind with 8.9

Meh, I could write a better list tbh.

Like where in the blue world are classics like Boys from the Blackstuff, Cracker, The Up Series, and other amazing British shows. Also no Hill Street Blues, Homicide or Larry Sanders, rofl pretty horrendous whoever put that together actually since 2 of those should be in the top 100 technically(8.7 and 9.0 are their scores.).

Saying that, the top 12 is pretty amazing.

EDIT - No Sports Night either smh.
 
The list is by no means accurate. Several shows have scored higher and do not appear on the list.

Exactly, it's a fact that Friends is shit. I can think of about 380 shows better then that, let alone it finishing 38th!

You make it sound as if my purpose in life has been to wait for you to sign up here, and then viciously rebuke your love of Whale Wars and Friends and other bad bad stuff. My sarcasm is never hard to read on the internet.
