i finished the pokemon games on the gameboy a couple years ago and im 39.
if you like the game go for it. and the ds is an excellent piece of kit.

The thing is, as a student a DS is quite expensive for me.

it cant be much different from the original gameboy games can they? its usually all the same imo. just different and new pokemon.
Yeah, but I haven't played the original games, only tried them out on my computer.
should give them a try. on gameboy or computer, the original classic one that is. i've stopped playing after silver/diamond/ what not versions came out. dont know any of the new pokemon.
