Noodle, it is possible that you box was full to the brim, then the system decided to tell you to clean it out at the same time that you decided enough was enough and you cleaned it out yourself.

I never bother cleaning it out properly

Its because messages from mods still come through to filled boxes, or at least as many as two do - giving you 72 of 70.
