Dispite my serious doubts about all the changes that have been introduced to F1, I just witnessed some great racing this weekend. Didnt bother watching the quali, so perhaps a switch to fridays for first quali and 2nd on saturdays would be a suggestion.

Either way, whether it was the rules or an outside factor, something clicked this weekend and for the first time in a rather long time, not only have I enjoyed the race, but I'm also looking forward to the next one.

As such, I'm only too happy to be eating my hat, metaphorically of course...

It was a good race, but i still dont like the new regulations, the tyre rule is absurd, and the qualifying is utterly boring. As for the engine's having to last 2 aces, it is crap, as it could cause faster cars to start down the grid due to previous retirements, and makes some races an unfair playing-field, as was experienced by Hiedfeld today.

The tyres seemed to fair pretty well today. Looks like Michelin have done a good job. The fact we saw so much action today also seems to fly in the face of what we'd expect. I've gotta admit I was surprised. Whilst the overtaking, by in large, as you point out, was as a result of faster cars ending up down the grid, the race was highly enjoyable to watch.

Quali needs to be sorted, but I cant see how they tackle this one. Also the engine situation with teams detuning cars in order to satisfice is a signal that all is not well. The rules don't make sense, but the spectacle today was a good one. This leaves me perplexed, yet happy. I think the aero changes have caught Ferrari out as has their arrogance. But surely, there was no need to change everything else. The natural way of things in F1 (teams dominating for periods only to be caught up) was surely going to happen anyway...? Anyway, here's to hoping for more of the same.
