Hello.

If you love Hip-Hop or appreciate good music in general, well then you and me are going to get along.

I've just listened to 'Dutchmassive' and his two albums 'Project Reach Bootleg' and 'Junk Planet'. I have to say without a doubt, these are two of the best albums I have ever had the pleasure of listening too.

The production is just incredible. It's a mixture of Hip-Hop/Jazz/Funk and a bit of Soul with a 90's feel. It just works perfect, and Dutchmassive is a fantastic lyricist who hits home on every track. Production features the likes of J.J Brown, Madlib, MF Doom, Jay Dee etc...

I urge everyone to give it a listen and I can almost guarantee it will have your head nodding to the beat.

All the best to those 'as like it' but I'm much more 60's & 70's west-coast psychedelia myself.

Fair enough.
This is the best Hip-Hop I have ever heard in my life.

'Evaporate'
'Classic'
'Pipe Dreams'
'The EGO Has Landed'
'Dr. Ama (feat J.J. Brown)'
'Junk Planet (Intro)'
'My Apology'
'Positive Contact! Ft. Main'
'Seasoned Emcee'

Are all instant classics.

No it isn`t. Even a metalhead like me can appreciate class like Liquid Swords, 36 Chambers, The Chronic or Supreme Clientele.

Good man!

Wu-Tang Clan are special.

Give Dutchmassive a listen, much better then the mainstream music these days.

Depends on what you listen to.

Commercial Hip-Hop has barely lived.

Underground has always been the best form of Hip-Hop since day 1 and it's still the best now.

i've just given up on it.

Ah, great taste.

Illmatic is special though. Something that is just pure brilliance.

You will love Project Reach I think Lizard. It's just perfect.

Excellent.

It really is fantastic.

I'm just stuck on repeat at the moment. Haven't stopped listening to him since I got it.

I'll have a look a this Hectic cheers. Still listening to the Petestrumentals album you suggested.

I've been meaning to mention the band below to you as I think you may find them interesting. I've got a DVD with a live set that they have done and it is nothing short of incredible. It's been done in 5.1 surround and on a good system will blow your mind.

See what you think.

Dutchmassive is good music, truely. I think the two albums you posted dropped in 2004 or something.

The current album im listening to is Finding Forever by Common...pure brilliance, this album is flawless in every way. Can't fault it at all.

Go cop that.

Admittedly I have some Hip Hop hidden in amongst my respectable music and I listen to it quite often :nervous: Just some Wu-Tang Clan, Notorious BIG, 2Pac and Eminem. I even sing a long sometimes

Gotta agree with Shah on Common's album, but IMHO Sean Price's new mixtape is probably my fave atm, along with Marco Polo's debut album, port authority...

Oh, and im downloading the first Dutch massive album now Hectic ;), will probably have to wait a while for the second one cos of megaupload...

Hectic

Listening to Project Reach as I type this, about half way through now, I like, had a spliff and now chilling.

Good shout fella.

Enter the Wu-Tang
Illmatic
Predator
Fear of a Black Planet.

Best I've heard. Ironically, all of them did well in the charts. Hip Hop. . . underground hip hop became pretty popular in the mid to late 80's to the early 90's.

I prefer the older stripped downbeats, personally.

Wu Tang:

One of the most outstounding Wu Tang releases of recent time is Dreddy Krugers Think Different Presents: WU Tang Meets Indie Culture.

WU Members with indie artists such as MF Doom, Sean Price, Vast Aire, Del The Funky Homosapien.

Pure perfection.

In my opinion, the only good thing Wu have put out in recent years is 'No Said Date' by Masta Killa... maybe that Muggs/GZA collaboration too actually.

Raekwon was meant to be putting out a sequel to Cuban Linx on Aftermath this summer, with the bulk of the production coming from RZA and Dre. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it never saw the light of day, a la Rakim's time on Aftermath. It's an awful label when it comes to sticking to schedules, and RZA has a bit of a track-record of failing to live up to his promises.

As for the recommendations from Hectic: will get on to those later tonight and let you know what I think.

My computer is too shit for downloading. If I have to chose between the two, which one should I buy? I'm still searching music shops for Petestrumentals; I've looked in 3 HMVs and 2 Virgins and I still can't find it.

Big Pun is the greatest rapper of all time in my opinion. Yeah Baby, still my favourite album. Talib Kweli - reflection Eternal, a close second.

If you like UK stuff, Yungun and Mr Thing's Grown Man Business is well worth a listen.
