Us beating the rent boys 3-0 after a superb performance by the team, but crash out of the CL after beating the Hungarians 2-1 after them scoring a fluke goal and some heroic defending and goalkeeping from them

Or

Losing 4-0 to the rent boys after a dire performance, but sneak through in the CL by winning 2-0 after some lucky refereeing decison etc but less than convincing performance by the shirts

It's a tough one, and I'm not sure what I'd pick to be honest. My head says one thing, my heart and pride says another thing.

not making the cl would be a disaster so i prefer the 2nd scenario

It's a no brainer, unfortunately, imo... It's too early in the season to worry about 'how' we win and the CL qualification is more important than the rent boy result so... Option # 2 for me.

how about beating the Rent boys 2-1 and beat the hungarians 4-0. I think the boys will be up for both matches, maybe Rio should be rested then we could play 1-7-2 against the hungarians, was really shocked during the WBA game when SAF took both full backs off.

Now, that's the ultimate scenario, I was just playing (red) devil's advocate....

I laughed when Townsend said we had only two defenders on (btw, he looked so gutted when we finally won - fair play to him, he clearly like WBA after spending time there), and told my brother that we would either lose 1-0 or Ole would get us out of jail again :D

I'll go with no.1, beating the Rent Boys 3-0 and then we'll see whether that Hungarian goalie is as good as you say. ;)

You've lived in Brasil for too long gachau!

going through the CL is the most important thing, but i think we will beat the rent boys 2-0 and but ZTE 5-0 ;) :D

Loosing the champions league return match will be a terrible blow for us, and by then I will really consider about the decline of the empire... It'll be a nightmare for us... Hope that they don't scouse (10 defenders) the return match.

Common Man Utd!

There was a rumour the Nike deal was tied in with appearing in the Champions League every season. Just a rumour though...

However, the amount paid to the club by Nike will be reduced if the team does not finish in the top half of the Premiership or take part in European competition.
