If Woodward sticks with Van Gaal will you renew your season ticket or membership?

Is watching Van Gaal's "philosophy" worth what it costs to see Man Utd live? To my mind the answer is clearly no. So, will you renew your season ticket or membership for next season if we carry on like this?

Part of me says 'yes, just in case it gets better...' but the other part of me says 'its pointless unless the board sacks Louis'. Genuinely haven't decided. Can't see myself going to another United game this season though.

What about the rest of you?

I will renew my season ticket regardless.

My doctor will probably prescribe it for the insomnia I suffer.

The club won't care. The biggest customer is Sky TV not the fans. They are small fry when it comes to $$$

Yes obviously.

EDIT: Not a season ticket holder, but get four memberships every year and go to as many games as I can afford.

I like to think that future me will reminisce about that season we were so dull that everybody sarcastically cheered an off target shot from outside the area in the 70th minute...

I'll chuckle to myself and then cheer loudly as we stick a second first half goal in the net against Southampton after just 20 minutes of the match...

If you were the guy in charge of picking which games to show on TV would you pick any United game the way we've been playing this season? They'll start caring when they start getting picked to be shown on TV less and less. Right now you can get match highlights of a United game in a single GIF!

If he's still here and the football is still shite, I'll renew but I'll probably actively start selling my ticket to people I know until it improves. I'm not giving up my seat for someone who won't be in charge after next season.

I think they will continue to televise us because so many will love to see us struggle.

I've been doing this since November, can't bring myself to go anymore.

The club will absolutely care if we start seeing blocks of empty seats.
It won't happen though. Other, more interested fans who have been waiting all their lives to watch United regardless of form will buy them.

I don't think we will ever see blocks of empty seats. You might see scattered empty seats at most.

A few years ago you'd be right, back when there was a crazy long waiting list for STs. These days I'm not sure; if this lethargic crap boring football continues much longer I wouldn't be surprised to see empty seats.

We're already seeing bigger and bigger holes either side of HT and earlier and earlier before the final whistle.

I cam tell you now, as a fan always looking to pick up Chelsea tickets every season, even during this awful spell for the last six months, pretty much all tickets are sold out (Bar the ones well in advance and lower league games) and it is impossible to get them without connections of some kind. I suspect the same is similar with United and those empty seats are bought tickets but people aren't interested in going as much.

Correct me if I'm wrong. If you have season tickets and you give them up, well, isn't the situation with United similar to the situation with the Green Bay Packers? There is like a 20 year waiting list to get season tickets?

No, not for a while now. They constantly try and flog me one.

I reckon I could probably have picked up a ticket to every game this season. Granted they'll come from the people you mention at the end, but if any sizeable percentage of them don't renew there won't be the large numbers waiting to take their place.

Also worth pointing out that United made the cnut move for the second year running of putting every home game on sale before the season started, so people will have committed to going to our next game before we played a game in the summer.

I'd imagine if the old scheme of applying a month in advance was still going we'd be seeing lower attendance already.

Nope, not any more. I could get a ST for next season if I wanted one, no problem.

I don't think the club will be too worried about season tickets at this stage, the strategy is more focused on hospitality and football "tourism" anyway.

However they may be more worried about the global fan base - the massive global fanbase that supports the club due to its recent success and style of football. This fanbase (generalising) will have no problem switching their allegiances to other clubs either in England or elsewhere.

That's it really. There were quite a few empty seats around last night... two next to me even. They belong to season ticket holders though and were paid for, just not used. For league games though you don't see many empty seats around even with poor performances this season.

Last summer all season tickets were reportedly sold within 24 hours of the deadline in May... so demand must have been high. I bought my season ticket at a time when United were champions and I was able to buy it mid-July.

I cancelled my membership due to the way they decided to sell tickets for home games instantly. It wasn't long ago you'd have a ballot for games like Spurs and Newcastle at home. It seemed more 'fair' and you could actually be sure you're clear to attend on that day - sure you can get refunds or sell on, but it was a much better system before. If I could plan clashes with work in July, you know what I may have renewed.

Would always like to attend games, but for me personally it's not bearing on performances or results I just felt the system didn't really fit in with my circumstances and it would've been a waste of £32 to have an opportunity to apply for a few big games or maybe get the odd CL ticket.

It just wont happen. I know its nice to think that as a fan you can affect what happens at your club by trying to boycott games but your all pretty replaceable in the end; all fans are. Also, I don't like people giving up watching and supporting their team because the football isn't entertaining. It reeks of arrogance.

Was a season ticket holder for ten years up until Sir Alex's last season, personally I know I can pick up tickets for games I want without having to be tied into a season ticket.

Would I renew if LVG was in charge, of course I would, we will no doubt invest in the summer and we will surely improve. It's got to improve as I don't think it can get any worse.

Gave both up not long after they took over. The SKY & BT subscription go next, first time in 20 years without PL coverage.

Time will tell I guess. Or not, hopefully, as with any luck he'll be gone by renewal time.

Time will tell. It will tell that no amount of boycotting from fans will affect anything.

Well it would, clearly, because in the unlikely situation where OT was half empty every week we'd also appear on TV less and start losing sponsorship money left/right/centre.

It wouldn't though because more fans would take their place. If it got to the point where every fan was purposely not supporting and not watching United just because a manager is there and they aren't playing well enough, then yes, the club would sack him. But that is real scum behaviour, sabotaging your club just to get a man sacked.

Isn't that what Chelsea players do on a regular basis ????

I will NOT renew if LVG is still in charge. It's such a chore to go these days. Don't care if I sound spoilt. It's expensive and I want to be entertained.

I will end up renewing on deadline day but I know a few who are thinking of either selling it on or giving the seat up.

Same thought runs through my mind every match day but still end up going.

If the game's various powers insist on treating football as a mere product, then fans have every right to complain if the product fails to offer satisfaction, just as in any commercial sphere; increasingly, finance is the only language those powers understand.
