If a Thread or a Post is deleted

I am sure the mods can review them before emptying the trash. If a user is accessing the cafe through a proxy server and deleting a thread, is there any way it could be cached in the proxy.

The question looks a bit silly.. Is that really possible?

silly question, but in my experience and it does not mean i know how here works, anyone using a proxy acts as normal on a board and there actions are work out normal too.

deleted threads can be found throught the admin logs.

hope this is a silly answer :p

Users who delete their own threads are "soft" deleting them. Users can't see them but mods/admins can. We can "hard" delete them if we so wish.

I am no expert but I don't believe that deleted threads will appear due to caching except in the very short term on your own computer using the forward and back buttons.

Do you want me to hard delete a thread? PM me if you do.

I reckon it would be better to request the mods for the hard delete rather than momentarily removing the threads.

Thanks Wibble for the clarification.

Sometimes it can be amusing seeing what someone wanted deleting Vijay. ;)

No don't do that. It's good to be able to see what someone suddenly has second thoughts about. ;)

Delete it...yes! Yes! No, harder...HARD DELETE IT! NOW!!!

Ooo

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was mildy amused by the phrases "Soft Delete" and "Hard Delete".

I'm also glad I'm not the big nosed lurker who first posted about it.

Not for a long long time but the classics are timeless. ;)I think that I have used it twice since I saw your post. A much underused phrase I think.

"I don't fancy yours much" is another one I like.
