Harte not sure his future is at Leeds
The Republic of Ireland international has not played for Leeds since the 2-0 win against Birmingham on New Year's Day.
And the left-back wants manager Terry Venables to tell him where he stands.
The 25-year-old told The Sun: "It would break my heart if I had to leave - but I'm not sure if I have a future there any more.
"Terry Venables told me to lose a bit of weight, which I did, but it hasn't made any difference.
"I've been to see the manager three times but he just won't tell me why I am no longer part of things.
"Earlier in the season I was getting a game here and there but now I'm not even a substitute.
"I need to know where I stand under Mr Venables. I want first-team football.
"Every time I go to see Mr Venables we have a good chat.
"He says he likes the way I play and my passing and then I don't get picked.
"I'm prepared to do anything he wants to get back in the side, but he won't say what I'm doing wrong. I don't know whether he fancies me or not."
Harte insisted he was not criticising Venables for leaving him out of the side but just wanted some answers about his future.
"I'm not attacking Terry Venables here," he said. "He is one of the nicest men I've ever met and a terrific manager. His door is always open to anyone who wants to talk about things.
"But I am not getting any answers. I just want him to be honest with me.
"I don't feel I'm a scapegoat for our indifferent form, because I don't think like that. But if I'm not going to play any more, I need the club to tell me so that I can make some plans.
"I have three-and-a-half years left on my contract and could run around in the reserves picking up the money. Yet that's not my style.
"I would be so sad to leave but it must be a possibility."
