If we want a frankenstein I am sure we could manufacture one.

Alan Smith. Hell feckin no. We don't need that racist thug at Utd. Let him rot at Leeds.

i think he's got a good finish and he's quite quick. He has great potential and shouldn't be wasted at leeds.

Agreed. He never gives less than 100% and has heaps of potential. Why does he get the 'Racial Thug' monicker, lets face it he's no worse than Roy Kean.

He has never committed any racist acts and for the last three years straight has received commendations from the club and Leeds council as he is the Leeds player who puts in the most charity work. He's very quiet about it though so no-one ever hears about it.

It's only ill informed fans of other teams give him the racist tag. He can lost his head at times but I've seen him swear at English and foreign referees in the same way!

To be honest you could do worse than Smith. He's been unsettled as he was played at RM mostly last season and this season has even played CM as well.

When paired with Viduka during the CL run he and Viduka scored 22 goals between them. He's very effective at holding the ball up, is strong, can get away from defenders and winds them up like anything. He can also be quite skillfull when he gets the chance but has had an inconsitent season with Leeds being played out of position again.

Unfortunately now Bridges has been injured again it might be Smith's chance to get some time as a striker.

Hes dirty fecker, so what. Yesterday we were short of magic, only a few players can provide that, Di Canio, Joe Cole are 2 examples, A Smith another.

Why unfortunately?

Unfortunately for Bridges, or unfortunate that Smith will playing up front?

Smith is too ordinary. His scoring rate is ordinary as are his skill and passing. I think we should check the situation of West Ham closely. In case they go down (or even not) we should try to get Joe Cole and Defoe from them.

Give im to me any day. Akways gives 100 percent. And can presuurize Giggs for his left wing slot.

why are people still jizzing over Joe Cole?

i think smith would do pretty well with RVN....nice partenship...it's like viduka smith....but RVN is better than Viduka......he has to start getting a good name for himself...lose a bit of temper.....a good signing for around 15 million when the window opens..

Yes, I think he is a very good prospect.

But a team such as West Ham will kill any prospect. If he came to United and learn the trade from the star players here, he can make a big progress.

Remember everyone thought Leeds was crazy to spend 18m on Rio. But just one year later we nearly double the price to got Rio from them.

you can stick your leeds filth up your arse!

at least rios a COCKney!!

;)

His scoring record is too bad. A.Smith also never scored a lot of goals in a season. The only player I am interested to get from Leeds now is Kewell.

Kewell could do a job for us without a doubt. Either on the left or down the middle. I didnt think he worked hard enough but I'd give him the benefit of the doubt that if he came to OT and was playing in a great team then he'd rise to the challenge. The thought of Smith at OT is laughable, why would we buy him? Not for his goalscoring anyway and as he's not a defender an we've loads of midfielders where would he play

Right. Kewell can play as both LW or forward, and is a great challenger/cover for Giggs. Though this kind of player is a luxury to have, he is also the type of player who can create new spark and change a match on his days.

Alan Smith is anything but magic.

I don't see Alan Smith breaking through to the next level, which for us would mean that he would probably be relegated to a bench role.

Well if you say so, after all you were spot on about Deigo being shite, never going to succed at Utd and Heskey being better than him.

Smith to me looks a good prospect for the future
and could learn a lot from RVN.But he stated on Soccer Am if i remember correctly that the one club he would never sign for is United. :(
