I was disappointed with RVN last night....

But I totally forgive him due to him playing well throughout the season.... (unlike the fickle fans on this website who want to sell all players who are not on top form every game).

Thought RVN did well on the first goal and the penalty, but he got in great positions at other times and lost possession.

Has RVN been a bit out of touch of late?

Before you all start whinging, yes he's had a top season etc etc...but all players have the odd dip don't they?

I've seen a few of your games of late and he's missed a fair few chances..

Although it may be relative

I dont think anyone on here has suggested sell all players that are not consistant

Certainly sell the one(s) that have been really shit all year though

I thought he had a good game, he was largely unsupported I felt but did his best - he certainly worked hard. He showed great movement, persistence, got himself several chances (including the one that got the penalty) and seemed to be the main danger man. He had a better game than their strikers. Oh, and he scored in his last game as well btw. So if our striker manages to score in two consecutive games in his dip, Davo, then he must be a lot better than say someone who doesn't score in a 28 game dip.

I'm not trying to turn this into another long winded Heskey/ Owen vs RVN boreathon...

Did you agree with what I said?

Well...I thought RVN did ok last night. He harassed the defenders of Bayer pretty well and made a nuisance of himself, which is the best a striker can do from the lack of support he's been getting from the midfield. Like Ole he suffered from Fergie's tactics. Had Giggs been playing in the left of the midfield Ole would have supported RVN upfront.

But then he did miss those sitters. :(

Unfortunate time to have a poor game. But there it is. Shit happens.

Ruud's only human. There isn't a player alive who will have a good game every time.

Ruud's been excellent for the majority of the season, but compared with last season when we had four first choice strikers, he's had to play virtually every game.

His form did dip a couple of months ago, and Fergie rested him in at least one game, maybe two. Forlan to play Saturday, and Ruud comes in hubgry and sharp next Tuesday.
