Giggsy is back to his best. Ruud is knocking them in again. Scholes is back to his best and now seems to like playing the second striker role. Butty looks dominant and confident, no doubt reveling in his post WC plaudits. Rio is settling well with Larry. Micky S is beginning to look like a player we can rely on. Even PNev has been outstanding whilst playing in midfield.

All this makes me think things are coming on good again.

And all this with Keano still to play.....

Did not say we can't be stopped, just they we are looking our old selves.

Form is beginning to be found. Some PL team is gonna get their arse kicked soon.

Too many players were off form last season - Scholes, Giggsy, Fabien and Veron being main ones. But if they start having a top season, mixed in with RVN, Becks and Keano then who is to say what might happen.

Basically the old swagger is returning. We are not there yet, but things are looking promising...

What do you think then Davo?.

I think you're getting carried away with a little run of wins again poor or off form teams...fair play you can only beat what is put in front of you blah blah, but you've already lost 3 times this season..

If you break down your recent form

In Europe you've beaten a poor Israeli side - who still managed to knock in a couple of soft goals, Olympiakos who are known for being rubbish away from home, and a very off form Bayer side who dominated the match..

At home you've beaten an injury hit Spurs who just got thumped at home by Boro and Charlton who've yet to get a point at home..

That said, I don't think you were ever as bad as some made out and you were always going to pick up...

We had loads of injuries too.
Instead of saying injury hit you could have caled them table toppers, but its only the evil press that twist things to suit themselves isnt it.

Well if you want to think that you beat the best team in the league you carry on Murt...

The fact of the matter is they had big injury problems..which has brought their decent start to an abrupt halt...

This is what I mean when I say that I reckon some of you are getting carried away..

We beat the team on top of th league, i said no more than that. Spurs were on good form att the time and if ever thy were going to beat us at OT that was the time as they were looking good.
A solid win against the league leaders doesnt excit me, 5 straight wins and the leagues second best defence however does :D

Why do I get the impression that if we had started as you have you would be writing us off, and slating our inability to score many goals in the league...and crap goal difference?

If pool had started like we had (ie not scoring a whole lot) i would have said same boring old pool, mainly due to the fact that it would have been a continuation from last season.
With us i know its a temporary thing, soon, (perhaps allready) the goals and the good football will start flowing.
It will be interesting to see if Pool and Utd can find a happy medium between last seasons great defensive respective great attacking performances and this seasons contrasts, ie pool suddenly able to attack but leaking goals and Utd suddenly able to defend but not scoring. My moneys on Utd to get it right first.

Now that's odd. Our first half performance was excellent, and we defended the lead well in the second.
If we are comparing this season's European records, Liverpool's doesn't really match up too well

We've been crap to date in Europe this season...we should have made sure of the win against Basle and played badly against a very good side in Valencia..

You were under the cosh for much of the match, it was an excellent result but you were far from convincing..

yep in the second.. i think Ruud's injury didn't help.. in the first we looked the more dangerous side.

plus, we should've beaten chelsea away, which would have been a great result.

so its not all doom and gloom.
