Stop paying attention to this a while ago
Since the caf is trying to move away from its women love under the regime, i find it odd that i often see graphic, full frontal porn advertised on the site.

I have a screenshot, but i dont really want to post it as this thread will be on the front page, not that it matters, as this advertisment is from the front page.

Are they supposed to be there?

Well, I am not an admin or anything, but it has nothing to do with the board. The ad is just a reflective of what you visit the most, or what that computer is used for the most and it is tailored to your needs. Are you now saying you don't want to watch porn anymore? Or you don't want your computer to be used to watch porn anymore? If you are not the one watching porn, ask people in your household. They have been doing it.......
If you don't want to see them, clean out your cookies and visit bible.org, then come here, you will see a different ad.

Then you must have gone to some sites like those movie sites where pops of sexual nature pops up. It could have been something that was not intentional, but I bet you go to some website for games, movies or some sort where there are ads of like that on it, this gets saved on your computer.
For instance, I play golf a lot my computer and all the ads I see are about buying putter and drives for Taylor made etc

I download my movies from torrents though, but i do see what you mean about the pop ups. Makes sense i suppose.

Theyre where theyre suppose to be, its not pop ups.
Dunno why you're getting them then. It's worth perhaps clicking them and copying the link where it sends you to, and PM Niall with the link - not so he can look at it, but because he can get that link removed.

It just so happens that you appear to be the only one who is getting them, so it's safe to say that you have a very "unorthodox" taste in websites compared with the rest of the Caf.

I assure you i dont go on any of those sort of sites, not on my laptop.

Banner ads on the site or pop up windows? I assume the latter.

Increase your internet browsing privacy settings and go to google and type 'opt-out cookie' which is meant to prevent your computer traffic being targeted.

The amount of information taken in this way is staggering and makes an absolute mockery of data protection and privacy laws.

I think ill give that a try.

This isn't the general. If you can't help the OP then keep out please.

My NOD32 blocked something from the Caf the other day too. I don't remember what it was though.

I remeber when I used to run a web site that there were occasional false positives kicked out by forum software and I suppose that it could be from a linked image not hosted by us as well. I have never had any sort of spyware or virus and I never get a hot from the Caf. Hmmm?

From here? That seems unlikely.

Oh no. sorry I should have clarified that a bit more, the little bugger is Rampant on MSN, it comes under the guise as a message from a friend 'is this you in this foto?' with a link, my brother was stupid enough to press on it. Took me countless scans and about an hour and a half before my anti-virus would recognise it. I found the file it came in my videos.

Just to let everyone know to be careful.

On a side note, even though i hate viruses, especially a trojan, the feeling you get when you delete a virus is second to none

What anti-virus did you use btw? I have two, zone alarm and malwarebytes. Using the malwarebytes in particular and help from google i got rid of my last virus in a few hours.

I think it was some website link that my NOD32 blocked. Didn't really pay much attention to it. I just saw the window of the blocking notification come up and it faded away. Didn't really see if it was a link, or some downloadable stuff.

AVG myself, I locked the fecker up in my virus volt and then destroyed it. It actually does feel pretty damn good. Usually AVG is much quicker off the mark but it took it a while this time.

Vaguely, nearly, sort of on topic but Jason is right. If we keep chat out of this forum more actual helping might happen.

Those ads are based on your cookies, someone has been surfing porn on your laptop.

ads are related to the type of surfs and items you look at. They customize to your tastes. stop looking at porn and you'll stop getting porn ads.

/end thread
