It's a slim basis I'll admit, but from what we have seen of Cissé I still think he would be fantastic for United. Pace, dribbling skills and a powerful shot. He gave the French new attacking impetus earlier today...

Cissé combined with OGS, RVN and Forlan would be a perfect strike force IMO.

Slightly, allegedly...

We'll just have to offer him better terms; how about a personal coiffure guy (and hairdrier)?

Perhaps you're not interested?

What makes you think that you are?

Demento is no doubt trying to find the new Forlan... ;)

That's a lot for any player to live up to. You can imagine the new non-scoring striker telling the press: "Of course it's an honour to be compared to Forlan, but we're different sorts of goal wastrels entirely."

"Of course" the expensive new signing would continue " I hope to follow in the footsteps of my fellow South Americans at Old Trafford and prove to be a great success"

;)

Perhaps you're right. We OUGHT to be interested though. Forlan can still prove to be a good buy but no matter how hard you try, Davo, you're not going to convince me that he's top notch. So that leaves us with OGS and RVN who are perhaps a little bit too similar in style to fully complement each other well (AGAINST TOP CLASS OPPOSITION!). And no matter what, two strikers ain't enough...

We need Cissé. Not PDC or whoever, we need Cissé.

Plz Fergie...

Cisse is crap!!!! What we need is a top clasCantona like player. Someone who can play a Roberto bagiio role with the strike rate of a 20 goal a season forward. Not another target man. Aganst a well oiled defence target men can be very useless. arsnal and Liverpool have proved it against us. What other pro do you need? :D

Your not asking for a whole lot are you.

So your wanting a young Zidane, preferrably with nicer hair and a tan who will score 20 goals a season.
Did you once see a headline "theatre of dreams" and decide to support them?

Your so thick you could trot an elephant across you.

Thick? Definitely! But bloody good fun, I'm sure you'll agree, Murt?

Forlan is going to be good player. He reminds me of Totti. He even looks like him! May be that's why Fergie bought him, since he could not get the real one

HA HA HA FUNNY!

You are as dumb as a door nob. Cantona like players do exist. Ever seen Rivaldo, Bergkamp, Totti, Valeron, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho play? They can create like King? Eric and score like him.

Anyways, As the saying goes a fool is wise in his own eyes and you are one fo the biggest. If you think the the "theatre odf dreams" is whgat nade ms star supportng Man Utd , you would be trounceed result wise by a a monkey in an IQ test :p

Doesn't matter how many "world-class" players we bring in.

If we don't play as a cohesive unit, nothing will work. Spending several million won't guarantee a thing.

What about Julius Aghahowa? I've been rather impressed with his performances in an otherwise low-quality Nigerian side...the guy has skill. If you want someone like Eric Cantona, Dugarry might be a cheap option.

Agreed! If anybody need proof I'd point to Denmark and, in particular, Sweden's WC teams. Based on the players available they ought to be no-hopers but they've got the tactical bit sorted and therefore they're very, very hard to beat. If United employed the talent available with anything like that degree of team organization we'd be an entirely different proposition.

Furthermore: those who think that one has to accept a straight trade-off between tactics and attacking play are wrong. At times, Denmark played very attractive attacking footy in the qualification games.

I guess the hope is that Queiroz's coaching will provide us with a tighter game plan next season. I'm sure his appointment shows that Fergie recognizes the problem.

But still, would you disagree that we could do with a striker with Cissé's attributes?

Dugarry's a joke!

Cisse is just like Yorke and Colr were. Just with much better atributes at a younger edge. But one must never forget it was the presence of Shreringham along side a targetman in Solksjaer that won us the treble. We have not looked good since we lost Teddy who replaced King Eric. If we can get a similar player this summer our future will be bright. Another Van nistelrooy in cisse would not solve our problems at all. Sheringham like players give our strike force variety. ;)

You idiot. Yorke is a link up man like Sheringham. It was Yorke and Cole who got us to the next level and it was the squad play of Teddy and Ole which got us the Treble. 2 partnerships made up of one striker and one link up man, so you're almost correct. But you've forgotten how awesome Cole and Yorke were that year.

As a team we need a link up man, we miss Teddy badly and Veron/Scholes/Giggs have not replaced him. Yorke has also disappeared so we have NO link up man. You're right, we need one at least.

We need one more than we need Cisse, not because Cisse is no good, but because as a team we cant function 100% without one.

But Cisse is probably something we shouldnt let slip through our fingers. An immense talent in the shape of a better Henry rather than RVN/Cole. Kemo - is Henry like Cole? Not really...Cisse would suit our team perfectly and he is something we lack. Explosiveness.

I think the signing of Forlan has indicated that Fergie is not interested in Cisse. It would not be possible to have 4 out and out strikers (RVN, Ole, Forlan and Cisse) so unless Ole/Forlan are sold, Cisse will not be coming.

4 strikers would mean a midfielder would have to play the link-up role and no one we have right no can do it. That would leave 4 players challening for one place.

No way.

The talk about Cisse is pathetic. Why talk about some player who will eventually sign for the pool? There is a better chance of us getting a Ronaldo, or a Raul than a Cisse. The guy is a scouser for all I know.
