I get this strange.....

.....and unpleasant feeling that we aren't going to sign any of the targets we are linked to this summer (eg ayala, hofland, reiziger etc) and we may have to settle for lesser lights or worse, no-one at all.

And I got this feeling after reading some of Fergie's recent comments about Blanc and Johnsen.

I can guarantee you that SAF will sign a world class centre back and another striker in the closed season, personally i think there will be a fair bit of transfer activity this summer....

We can't get any worse then Reiziger :rolleyes:

Blanc is retiring, Johnsen isn't even signed for next season yet... Talk is cheap, even when it's Sir Alex. What do you expect him to say at this stage? 'Our center halves suck'?

hofland´s signing is probably done and dusted
 
Hofland seems to be another Wes Brown.

And why is reiziger that poorly rated? Is he that pathetic?

I'm more optimistic about this, because:
1. Fergie has signed for 3 more seasons, so he will definitely start to plan for the more long term rather than the short term solution such as Blanc
2. No matter we can win the league or not, this is certainly our worst PL season since 1998. Fergie knows this and he will definitely do something to restore our competitive edge in the league.
3. The signing of Veron already proved that the club has the determination to sign the best players in the world.

If he doesnt sign any of your politically correct stars will you be on the look out for another club to put you 100% support behind?

We have Brown & O'Shea coming back to form for defenders. Midfield is ok and if Yorke goes he should be replaced. To improve on this season we just have to play more as a team and have the midfield/ defence working in sync. We dont need a new keeper.

Do you not trust Fergie? I have my opinions but ultimately Fergie is a legend and if he decides he doesnt need anyone ill support that. Hes never let us down before. No matter who we sign & dont sign ill still be looking forward to next season.

I didn't say he has to be a superstar. But he must be excellent quality otherwise we are just wasting time signing someone no better than what we have.

Do you seriously believe O'Shea and Brown are capable of stepping into the first team and playing there day in day out against the likes of Real and Arsenal?
