He's always been a bit overrated imo. Had a great year during the plastic treble run, but hasn't really been that 'World Class' since.
He shines in a defence-minded team. When you have two midfielders like Gerrard and Hamann sitting in front of you and the rest of the side geared to sit back and absorb pressure, it's no wonder Hyppia has got such a reputation. In a gung-ho team that goes for the throat, he'd struggle.

Shanks appreciates your bias, but asks you to really wacth big Sam next time you see him play. He's a very competent player. His only real problem is his pace. Both he and Henchoz are very slow, so they have to sit back, allowing pressure.
Shanks feels the way forward for Liverpool IS to sell Sami or Stephane and buy a pacey, comfortable on the ball CB, like Boumsong or Gallas.
Traore will be there in a few years time, but for a change in our style of play to occur, a quicker centre back will need to be signed Shanks feels.

So basically what wanks is saying is that Hyppia is a slow donkey and should be sold, has Murt understood corectly?

Shanks says that Hyypia is class, but either he or Henchoz will need to be sold for us to progress as a side. Check my original post.
