Bethesda's released a new trailer for Hunted: The Demon's Forge, the game that, if you ask us, isn't getting the attention it deserves.

In case you've managed to miss it up until now, Hunted is being developed by inXile Entertainment, a developer founded by Brian Fargo, who's known for his work on The Bard's Tale, Baldur's Gate, and Fallout.

It's out on June 1 in North America and on June 3 in Europe.

Can this be anything other than awesome?

bethesda though

so expect hours of pointless and boring wandering to pick up shit and forgettable characters.

People need to stop releasing amazing new games so I can actually focus on my uni work and maybe even claw back some semblance of my life.

You didn't like Oblivion!? Poor soul.

Looks like a good 'un, i'd not even heard about it till now.

i miss isometric rpgs and strategy games.

Age of empires and baldurs gate havent been topped for me yet in either format.

ah well, its moved on i guess!

I've played Bethesda's oblivion. It's good, but the biggest flaw is that we're very much inclined to create the uber character, and won't enjoy the game itself.

I have a spreadsheet that tells me when to level, which major minor left to level etc etc, i'm starting not to playing the game, but on the number itself.

It's abig turn off after a while realising that no matter how perfect your character is there's always the "difficulty bar setting" which kinda make the whole game lame

Starcraft topped it, sorry to smash your hombre, unless you're a joan d'arc and saladin's fanboy :P

It's a good game, but too taxing on multiplayer, a friend once told me that a good game of AoE really brow his brain out, two hours of constant nonstop hotkeys action.

Yeah, I'm a massive history buff to be fair.

And that is exactly why I loved AoE. I was good at it. Very good in fact. The micromanagement in it was insane. I don't think a game has ever had such a divide between the levels of players. Even from good players to the slighty better players (rook to 'grook' for example) the divide was obvious, simply because it required so much skill to play.

Obviously with the popular online games these days- FIFA, COD etc- there is a lot of skill involved, but it is nothing near that needed for AoE.

Ah, the best days of my life were spent playing that game....

I hate micro, I swear to god I'm a world champion if not for my suck micro skills, perhaps I take games lightly.

I can barely beat the campaign

I guess not my cup of coffee, but again after a while it's a "who gets the better micro wins" as with most games to be fair, but AoE really take it to the point you won't and just can't win without extreme macro.

Nowdays online games means jackshit, you top it because you miss lunch, dinner, and presumably did not take bath. WoW used to be good until they decided to pamper the casual gamer too much (i'm one of the casual gamer myself), and epics are a matter of time and persistence

Micro is great fun if you ask me. Right from the off in AoE you have a set build, it's like dominos. You have to juggle 1 dozen different things at once- scouting, building houses, getting your sheep, luring boar, wood chopping, building, stockpiling resources, when to go for gold/stone, when to build each buildings, scouting with sheep, idle villagers, building villagers, researching techs... It's so intense, because you have to keep all the balls up in the air at the same time. And the thing is if you balls up just once it's probably game over. Lose 10 seconds by forgetting to build a house and you are as good as dead.

I used to download and watch recordings of the very best players, just to see the skill in show. There is nothing quite as satisfying about watching the very best AoE players go 1v1, it's not just the speed of macro, but the speed of thought- reaction and action. Ability to juggle military and economy...insane.

feck sakes, I miss this game now.
