Acording to various sites and skysports hes signing for newcastle utd for 8.5 million. i havent seen him play so i cant comment but should utd have tried to sign him?

He's a very good prospect, and if Robson signs him then its another masterstroke by him, he's building a very good young side there. BTW its Viana.

<a href="http://www.nufc.com/" target="_blank">They seem pretty certain in the Toon</a>

cant beleave they have pulled this off hes class, there going to have a good challenge next season

along with dyer for 6m

now they got dyer, jenes and vienna there going to have some midfield

fergie seems to be passing up on tese chances, players like riquelme and hug, maybe fergie has someone on a nother class than these two on his mind.

We certainly weren't going to buy him. The midfield is already full enough to spend 8m on a teenager imo. Duff should be our only target, in addition to a defender.

Hmmmm Craig Bellamy has actually changed that team since he signed

have any of you muppets seen him play? there's no way he's worth 8.5M...and players like dalla bona, marinelli. etc., who came with similar reputations have hardly set the league alight. robson should be fixing his defence, and looking for a couple of central midfielders instead of wasting money on bench players...

No way apleyr of his talent will sit on the becnh. Solano,Dyer, Vianna and Robert willbe Newcastles mid four. Jenas and Spedd will be the extra boys. :(

Laurnet Robert will be off, Because he moans to much
They will not drop Speed although they could play him at Left Back where he Plays exceptionally well for Wales

Not that I know of. It seemed Celta Vigo were destined to sign him, but then Toon and Pool went in for him. Didn't think he would move to England so early in his career to be honest, but for 8m that's peanuts for a club like the Toon. Robson has the best eye for spotting youngsters it seems. ;)

heres the link, with quotes, ;) and it also says Rivaldo is staying at Barca. Nice one Bobby.

if that's the midfield, then newcastle will struggle to get into the inter-toto cup next year, let alone the champions league. what will dyer and viana do against the likes of vieira, keane, etc.? this isn't championship manager, teams NEED some semblance of balance in their midfields (attacking and defending)...plus, aren't newcastle being a tad presumptuous? it's not like they're guaranteed to do well in the champions league, and could easily crash out and miss out on the big bucks.

...newcastle are hardly in a position to be throwing around 8m like "peanuts". they overspent during the keegan/dalglish/gullit years, and still have a long way to go before they recover...i don;t know, i just don't see any logic in this move, for the player, of the club. there has to be something more to this...

We should be signing up young defenders instead of midfielders

Regarding duff, there's no way in hell we are gonna get him - he's too good to sit on the bench
