So there I am in the doctor's office and "Stuck With You" comes on. Now I haven't listend to Huey Lewis songs since the days when MTV played music videos (for those of you scoring at home, this was the 1980s). But what is strange to me is that I still remember most of the lyrics. So I go home and look on LimeWire for HL songs and find many that I recall. Like a trip down memory lane.

That said, is Huey Lewis an icon? An innovator? A musical genius?

Or are his songs complete shit? Is he over-rated or never rated?

Curious. I know he was bigger in the US than in the UK.

I doubt many younger members of Red Cafe will have even heard of him except for the songs from Back to the Future. Some of his earlier stuff from the Sports album was pretty good, "Heart and Soul" and "Heart of Rock and Roll", but after that he went downhill.

They were a talented bunch, but musically speaking from a bygone era.

You won't find artists like that anymore.
