How much does it cost to watch a film at the cinema in your part of the world?

In London (UK), it's averages about £7 off-peak and about £10 in the West End (city centre). Mind, it's been a while since I've bothered to watch a film in the city centre area.

It wouldn't suprise me if these are the most expensive prices in the world. £10 would be about $15 (American) or about 740 Indian rupees.

It's a rip-off and it certainly stops me seeing a film on regular basis. I only watch 'block-busters' at the cinema now as that's where they can only be appreciated. The rest, I wait until it's shown on Sky.

Its around Rs 150 - Rs. 250 here in India if you go to a multiplex.

I remember I was shocked when I went for a movie in London at the high prices.

When I lived in Thailand, it used to cost 100 Baht (about £1.50 back then) back in the UK it's £7.50. The seats in the Thai cinemas were more comfy and had better leg room as well.

Thus I used to take the Mrs. out for a film a week, now it's not even a film a month. (Might go see Star Trek though).

About £6.50 here in Bolton, but you can get Orange Wednesdays at the cinema up at the Reebok stadium so then it's £3.25. Can't complain with that really....

I usually go to the cinema if I have nothing else to do. €8 in Ireland. I actually saw I Love You, Man two nights ago, and I'm going to see Observe and Report tomorrow

In my local cinema they have Monday Madness, €10 for 2

How is that possible?

got out of the cinema going habit years ago - the last film I saw was in a Bury St Edmunds Cinema- twas the remake then of the Body Snatchers. Now I see films via video or the net . My mates have been nagging me to join them for a visit to the local fleapit and I will probably succumb soon

If you take into living standards into the account, watching movie in a good multiplex in India is more expensive than Europe.

30dhs, which is about 5 quid

Rs 100-150 for the ticket.

Ends up a fair bit more for the money you spend there after you get there. Food, beverage.. everything's sold at a very high price.

65 rupees is 1 euro for the europeans and others reading this..

In some places in LA $12 plus parking($10), usually just $10 though, fair enough a bit overpriced but what isnt these days

The reason for that is that if you want something made in the Western World, the people that make it would like to earn more than $1 per day and be able to go to the cinema themselves every now and then.
