How much does it cost to run Redcafe?

Well, it's simply server and bandwidth fees isn't it? Anyone with google could hazard a guess.

It's a dedicated (not shared) dual Xeon server, 2GB RAM, RAID 10 hard disk setup...

I'd be suprised if he gets anywhere near that much from the Google ads but I think he gets a good deal on the server (no idea what) and almost manages to break even on avearge.

my concern is not if Niall is making a lot of money with the caf -wich if he is, good for him- but him deciding one day to close this place because he got tired of spending money here

Weaste would probably take over.

He'd be the owner... :nervous:

You should pay for the webhosting, the URL and also the license of VBulletin Software I guess. But somehow, if I had a popular forum like these, it is good for my CV, so I don't mind spending money every year (if I had a popular forum like these).

Btw, are there 2 TRF now? A little bit confusing.

I doubt it is going anywhere is a hurry.

surely with 8000 posters he could make atleast 5000 a month through google ads.

Isn't it only a few pennies per click? I've probably clicked on a google ad three times in my lifetime. The first time it was a mistake. The second time was a mistake as well (stupid touchpad). The third time I thought it was a porno site - turns out it wasn't.
