you see Hyppia, Henchoz and Hamann or Campbell, Keown and Vieria performing a back-heeled clearly on the six yard box and then control the ball on the penalty spot and play a one-two before bring the ball 30 yards out of defence?.

I'd say when we start playing games against Mars and Saturn....

Feckin brilliant it was. Cool as you like, completely under control, class personified. Its what United is all about. Skill, ability and entertainment.

Not like Liverpool's defence and the 'ave it approach (think Peter Kay's advert!).

How long do you think it will be before...

they screw one up and give away a soft goal?

Two or three games I reckon.

Oh great, another bindipper or Gooner on the site....

I'm a Liverpool supporter - yes.

I thought it was class too, I just think it's one of those things that shouldn't become habit forming. You can be as clever as you like when you've got time and space, in that situation there was neither. Wish I could play football like that mind you ;)

I'm willing to have a bet that Ferdinand gives away a really soft goal trying something clever this season - are you?

Possibly, but you cannot score goals unless you have the ball, so simply hoofing it away like Liverpool does not help a lot.

Having ability on the ball it important for defenders these days, and IMO is why Liverpool struggle to break down teams in Europe.
