i used to love this show
I saw a few episodes a while back and found it a bit cringeworthy more than funny. Loved it at the time.
Good at the time, but it's not aged well. It was so "of it's time" that a lot of what it was reacting against and riffing off are no longer relevant.

It's classic, and still funny in some senses, but Bottom is Edmonson and Mayall's best work. I quite like the New Statesman as well
dated....badly.
I'm a big fan of Rik and Adrian anyway, bottom was brilliant too.

I thought it was puerile at the time. Some of the band appearance choices were inspired though.

I agree that it feels horribly dated now. Used to love it though.
It was a bit before my time, but my mum used to love it, and having seen a few moments that are still really funny and relevant (like the University Challenge one) it's still very good.
it may have dated badly but its still better than bottom...filthy rich and catflap is better than bottom too.
