How Did Raoul Miss This

Auxerre striker Djibril Cisse has fuelled speculation he is set for a move to Old Trafford by reportedly watching Manchester United's defeat to Blackburn.
The Daily Express newspaper claimed the highly-rated 21-year-old striker was invited to the game by compatriot Laurent Blanc.

The veteran French defender is believed to be using his influence to try to smooth the way for a deal with former club Auxerre and United.

Sir Alex Ferguson has been linked with Cisse in the past and the Old Trafford club are said to be monitoring him and team-mate Philippe Mexes.

Auxerre boss Guy Roux accepts Cisse will eventually move on, but any deal is unlikely to go through until the summer with the French team still in the Uefa Cup.

Ferguson is keen to strengthen his striking options when the transfer window reopens next week and is aware of Arsenal's and Liverpool's interest in Cisse.

Brazil star Ronaldinho, who is available at cash-strapped Paris St Germain and Sunderland youngster David Bellion are also possible targets.

there is said to be a picture in that paper of him in the stands

And?

There are no quotes, no proof he went there because he was joining your lot.

Its all ifs and buts.

Most things are speculation to begin with. Doesn't mean we shouldn't comment on them.

:)

C'mon Nate. Be a good egg about this. You know he's joining us at some point. Can't see anyone in England outbidding us. ;)

Raoul, I know we've argued all year, but no hard feelings mate, have yourself a very Merry Christmas.

Cisse has been on French radio saying he'd rather join United than Liverpool or Arsenal. It doesn't mean he's going to join United, but it's interesting that he was at the Blackburn match...

And the same to you Neil. As they say - "If two people are always agreeing, then chances are, only one persons doing the thinking".

Merry Christmas.

The Scousers are shitting themselves @ the Cisse to United stories.

Kraptalk Quotes:

1. Nooooooooooooooooooooooo !!

2. It would be a disaster if it were true. Although I'm not really sure we need another striker, I'd rather he didn't go to Man Utd. I would love to see Ronaldinho here although GH would never let him play properly anyways.

3. It would be an absolute disaster if that lot sign Cisse and Mexes. Those two belong in Liverpool shirts, pure and simple.

(and the best one yet)

4. Some people seem to be a little confused on this whole matter. DJIBRIL CISSE IS GONNA BE A SUPERSTAR, no doubt, better than Heskey better than Baros Kulivert Anelka maybe even Owen and Henry (Henry admitted as much)He is fast strong skillful powerful shot, agile, eye for goal, good header, can take free kicks, he creates for other players, all to a very high standard a combination of RVN and Henry, people say our attack doesnt need improving ??????????????????????????????????????????????, even if this were true, the fact is Cisse could I believe be as good as Ronaldo , ive seen quite a bit of him and I really believe this, to my mind we have two potentially World Class Strikers Owen and Baros(still far from complete) Cisse walks into the team, he cause defences absolute nightmares. We get Cisse and he instantly makes a defensive team dangerous , he would radically improve LFC, Kluivert would be a nice signing but not the massive step forward that we are ready to take.

:D

Liverpool were drawn with Auxerre in the UEFA cup, so they will get a close up look at Cisse, and then we'll nik im, I hope.
Given up on Mexes coming, looking at the way O'Shea and Wes are playing, and then there's Rio of course- Mexes would require a starting place, and would not come cheap, can't see it happening.

I tend to agree though it has to be said that Blanc leaving will at some point free up a spot. Mexes will have to compete, and some players perfer to go to smaller clubs where they're guartanteed a place instead of having to work for a starting role. We'll see where he ends up.

What the feck has our brightest prospect in years O'Shea done to deserve being dropped?

I would, love to c Cisse come to United, he is excellent, pacey, strong,etc.......it would be better than RVN and Henry, and then OGS warming up on the bench would fright the opposition more than currently where Forlan warms up.....so Cisse would be very good better than Ronaldinho in IMO, cos Ronaldinho is more of an attcking midfielder another Veron or Scholes....I would buy Cisse when the window opens..
about Mexes after Blanc retires then we would have 6 world-class defenders fighting for 4 places.....excellent

"Topic: How Did Raoul Miss This "
Simple really, he is busy defending Blondy, whom he knows that if we bought Cisse, blondy will not play a min unless we have 5-10 players injured. ;)

Do you really think you lot can out bid us, some how i don't think so.Cisse will quite clearly be a United player, if we so choose.

Mexes on the other hand is a tricky one, is there need to sign him, well if i'm being honest the answer is no. @ centre back we can play Rio, Brown, O'Shea, Silvestre, Neville(G) all of which are highly capable of filling that position, do we really need another centre half? Then again this guy is a world beater, do we pass up the oppurtunity of signing him, imagine;

Silvestre Mexes Ferdinand Brown

Neville(G) and Brown as cover. Sounds good to me!!!

YSB. ;)

Actually Diego would probably feature as a midfielder, as well as in the CL, especially as Ole gets older.

SOB ;)
you are right, especially that we have such a lousy midfield where the likes of Keane, becks, Giggs, Veron, Scholes, Butt, P neville and Fortune are competing over 4 places.
Also that is exactly why we bought Blondy for 7.5 mils,' to be a midfielder'. The Birtles saga again.
Come to think about it, I really think that Birtles was a bit better.
Now answer this: why is it that Blondie is so popular? sure it cannot be his performance or passing ability, or that small price tag. ;)
I think some of U have a hidden homo tendency or in some cases it is where he comes from, and that is really pity.

7 goals this seasons, mostly playing as a sub or support striker. Plus he's sincere and a pro who really wants to succeed at united.

Just fuch off will ya,
if you detest Diego the way you apparently do then you must detest the team he plays for.
Man Utd doesnt need fans that only like certain players.
A player coming to Utd has heaps of pressure on him and you would like to increase that by comparing him to Birtles, you cant stand to see him succed after the way you slagged him and his brace gainst Pool must really have sickened you. Youve shown yourself to be a muppet time an time again, if your not slagging the unemployed or the needy your slagging Diego
just fuch off

So u have nothing to say.
If I do not like Amigo out of 25 first teamers, then I am a scouser? why not admit that he is a loser like U. and take this.. I bet u he will not be a utd player bry next christmas. he is just not good enough. Oh is the welfare office closed today? ;) And by the way, birtles was better.

ALGred,

Please seek immediate mental counseling. Your arguement is completely bankrupt, or else you're not articulate enough to make it.

I agree about Cisse, conditions are perfect for this move to happen, assuming we really want him.

Like you say Mexes will be a world beater and we are probably in pole postion based on the interest we have shown over the years. Still we would have to be well motivated to finish such a deal under competition from a number of big clubs, some of whom have aging defences and obviously lack the young defenders we have. Well if I was the Ch manager I'd go for him because these kind of players are few and they're what seperate good teams from great teams, besides being an artful defender he adds a lot to the attack. But it is early to decide, have to see how the defence forms over the remainder of the season, and what positions need the most strengthening.

articulate enough !?Ok, a ‘Murty’ kind of articulate.
and I am serious here Actually
“Diego would probably feature as a midfielder,” BE SERIOUS OR LIKE MURTY WOULD SAY 'Just fuch off will ya'
especially as Ole gets older. HE IS 29
if you detest Diego then you must detest the team he plays for.FALSE & STUPID ASSUMPTION
Man Utd doesnt need fans that only like certain players.JUDGE AND JURY ,ALSO FALSE ASSUMPTION
A player coming to Utd has heaps of pressure on him and you would like to increase that by comparing him to Birtles  SO LET US GIVE A 7.5 MIL SUPPOSEDLY READY TO GO PLAYER A COUPLE OF YEARS WHEN WE ONLY HAVE TWO STRIKERS
you cant stand to see him succed after the way you slagged him and his LUCKY brace gainst Pool must really have sickened you. I SAW HIM AND PASSED JUDGEMENT, AND THAT WAS BEFORE THE LIVERFOOLS GAME, WHY NOT BET HE WILL NOT BE A UTD PLAYER BY NEXT CHRISTMAS? AS MUCH AS I 'DETEST' HIM, YOU ARE DEFENDING HIM AND I REALLY FEEL YOUR JOB WILL BE HARDER SINCE HE IS NOT DEFENDABLE.
U GO AHEAD AND GET WHATEVER U CAN OUT OF THIS REPLY SINCE I AM NOT GOING TO SPELL CHECK IT. U JUST DO NOT DESERVE IT. ;)

That's rather harsh murt, detesting a player doesn't mean detesting the club.

Detesting any of our players is harsh. Also, continually arguing why a young player like Forlan should be sold, when he has improved tremendously is also harsh.

Like what point?
that Gary Birtles is better than Forlan despite him never having seen Birtles play?
The majority of Utd fans love Diego, not just because he sunks the dippers but because hes a decent player and allways gives his best, have you ever heard how the Utd fans sign his name in every game?
Only you and that other dick Algerian Red are willing for him to fail and undoubtabely cringe every time he proves youse wrong.

You both need to admit that youse were wrong, hold your hands up and say that not for the first time (remember the whole new defence) that youse were overboard with your criticism and wouldnty know a football from a horses gonads.
