How About Scrapping...

...The transfer forum? It doesnt really add much to the forum as 90% of it is baseless rumours and many of the newer members mostly post in there. It would be ok if all of that stayed in there but then these posters drag stuff into the other forums. This has led to a fall in the standard of some of the posts IMO and scrapping it may mean that some of these people get bored and leave. I mean, its gotten to the extent that there are people in the Newbie with nicknames like Torres2United and Transfer_Master :wenger:

What I propose is that if a deal has been done, ie confirmed by the club then it can be posted in the United forum but all of this specualtion is just pointless. Most of the threads in the United forum about what is wrong with the club or about one of our players who is underperforming just turns into a shopping list of players we will never get, by the same posters that post in the transfer forum.

This is just a suggestion which I feel may improve the Caf because I can not see what the transfer forum adds to the place other than pointless threads.

Ah feel better now :)

actually I think some of the transfer forum muppets get off when they read that some dude is linked with United

eggzackerly Kristjan.

take away the transfer forum and we'd have mass suicides and pandamonium in the United forum.

think its better off the way it is, then the rest of us dont have to venture into that particular asylum

What I am saying is if the transfer forum is gone and you ban any cut and paste articles linking us to people from being posted in any forum then these poeple would get bored and leave.

It would improve the quality of the Caf as a whole. Do it for the sake of us all!

We all know it's a mess, Dubai, but if the transfer forum were deleted, they wouldn't feck off as you suggest. They'd just make their posts in the United forum.

Yeah but they might if the mods banned and deleted those types of threads from any forum if they were posted, that would work.

Oh well :)

How's about we list the most transfer obsessed posters in the transfer forum (we can check them out and if any more than 50% of their total posts are in the loony bin then they qualify) and then ban them from that forum for a month to see whether they actually have anything to offer the forum beyond their Championship Manager dream team.

At the same time we make any mention of unconfirmed players in the United or Football forums an instant yellow card offence and posting of a purely transfer related thread a red card offence. Punishment for a first red card is a week ban, two weeks for second offence and life for a third offence in one season.

As for the Newbie forum anyone registering with a name like Transfer Master or Torres2United will find themselves sitting in there until Satan is skating to work on the Styx.

geez.. ... its all nice to hear.. but i really doubt if all this can be implemented... We hardly see many threads being posted in the main forum thats "purely transfer related" and yellow card for mention of unconfirmed players is hardly workable....

All it takes is probably just a cold shoulder from the regulars and may be a post from the mods stating that the message was out of place and shud be in the transfer forum!

Only wild suggestions to be honest but in reality the alternative is to persevere with the forum as is where it seems to be OK to start a thread about preferable team formation and see people listing teams where half or more of the players play elsewhere and are never likely to pull on a red shirt. We could be more harsh about it and say the next cnut to include any of Van der Vaart, Joaquin, Ferari, Ronaldinho etc in a United team sheet anywhere outside the Transfer forum is instantly banned unless transfer negotiations have been officially announced by the club.

That sound like a good idea but might be difficult to implement. I say just scrap the place, then all the loonies who post any rubbish can easily be weeded out and dealt with when they post in the other forums.

Anyway the transfer forum only needs to be used 2 or 3 times a year when we actually buy or sell players and most of the time these threads end up being posted in the United forum. The rest of the year its just a gossip forum.

If we were to rid of the transfer forum, people would just post else where on the forum. It stays.
