trust me, if you have any sense of humor, and a vague knowledge of the films it parodies, you'll love it!

happily. scary movie is way overrated. (1st is a bit of a laugh, all the rest are awful).
firstly, you have not laughed until you have watched "Airplane!" Probably one of the first "big" parodies, it marked Leslie Neilsen's transition from good straight actor to legendary comedy actor. Airplane 2 is also pretty good, though not as great (in fairness, that would be impossible).
Sticking to the Leslie Neilsen theme, he Naked Gun trilogy

Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult) are brilliant parodies of cop films and the like. Robin Hood, Men in Tights is pretty good too.
You'll notice they are all older films, but

Please never compare Scary Movie to Hotshots again. Hotshot’s is an absolutely brilliant film, whereas Scary Movie isn’t.

Epic Movie and Date Movie are ones you sit through with the common look of
for the whole 90 mins. Kung Pow is hilarious, Steve Oederkerk (sp?) really did a good job with that one.they are both classics, them and the Airplane films put all the recent spoofs to shame
Top Secret isnt too bad, its a spoof of Wartime / Elvis films if i remember correctly, stars Val Kilmer
Men in Tights is brilliant, Mafia is really funny
Lloyd Bridges was an amazing actor for these type of movies
