I'm having this nightmare about us beating Arsenal and handing the title to Liverpool.

Throw the game

Play a reserve team,
If weve nothing to play for why not,

Seriously if that was the scenario i would be rooting for Arsenal and id hope that anyone at the game would too.

Thats fecking sad.

i'm agreeing w/ a 'Pool fan? *gulp*
if we're not gonna win the season ('cept we will) let's end it w/ another 6-1 drubbing of arsenal w/ a hat-trick from Seb!

I'm having this dream that after Utd go out agst Deportivo, Liverpool make it to the EC Final, where they play Bayern Munich. After 90 mins play, Liverpool are 1-0 up, and have already hit the woodwork twice....but joy of joys, the germans get a corner in the first minute of injury time...their goalie goes up to create mayhem in the box, and Big Ron says "if Bayern get one now...".

"Can Bayern score? - They always score"! :D

If we had absolutley no hope of winning it mathamatically then play the fringe players, because at the end of the day if we could'nt win the league but Liverpool could providing we beat Arsensal then why hand the scousers the league

Always support United

But.......

Don't you rememebr last years game the last game of the season v Derby, everyone was wanting Derby to win so siddy would go down, after all, we didn't need the points that day

I felt that losing to Derby at home on the last day of the season made the whole day an anti-climax. I support United - the only time I worry about Manchester City is when we play them, and I enjoy taking six points off them.

Please keep your horrible thoughts to yourself, this scenario won't come about because Liverpool and Arsenal will drop points and we can still win it, you couldn't seriously support Arsenal at OT, that's just too weird.

There were absolutly 1000's of pool fans praying that poo lose to BLACKBURN on the last day of the 95'season so that BLACKBURN would win the league and not UTD ..... That is sad concidering LIVERSHITE wern't even in the title race that year!!!!!

Playing the reserves against Arsenal, won't be considered a sporting behavior, remember back n 94-1995 season when we travelled to Westham & Liverpool hosted Blackburn,,,did Liverpool played with the reserves ?

This is garbage!!! I could never want United to lose. We've just got to win every game and see what happens. With the attitude going on here we would not have beaten Bayern in Barcelona. It's ridiculous to give up with so many games to go. Sure it's harder but harder doesn't mean impossible. Get a grip ffs!!!

I think I'll get up and I'll sing it again
So Paddy got up and he sang it again
Over and over and over again

Who's the team they call Arsenal?
Who's that team we all adore?
They're the boys in red and white,
and they fight with all their might,

Everything must be done to stop the scousers. If the worst comes to the worst and the above scenario comes true i will indeed be hoping for a Gary Nevill "own goal" in the last minute :D

I'm there already

:D

this is complete bollox! if Liverpool r gonna win the league by getting more points than us, then feck it! let them! the least we can do is go down fighting + make them work 4 it!!! as far as i'm concerned, we're the reigning Champions until someone mathematically beats us and if they're wanting the key 2 our trophy cabinet-- well then they're bloody well gonna have a (fair) fight on their hands!
now...i'm off 2 root (in vain) 4 all the Brits at the Oscars. please no more talk of throwing the race. it's demeaning 2 the "never-die" attitude this club is famous 4!
Peace V

Considering United will be playing Arsenal on 8 May, I think we'd have a VERY clear picture by then what the result may mean.

If beating Arsenal gives United a chance of winning it, by all means, try.

However, if beating Arsenal will help Livershites' chances if we're already out of it. I'd be cheering for Arsenal and hoping for another Wes own goal.

This is cool :D :D

For your information we beat Blackburn and celebrated our victory as well as enjoying Blackburns celebrations. If you had beaten West Ham you would have won it. :D But you didn't This is soooo funny.

We MUST beat Arsenal to ensure qualification for the CL next year (although I expect we'll win it this year !), and to have a respectable attempt at winning the PL. If Liverpool end up winning the PL good luck to them. I don't believe in insulting other great clubs.

The flip side to that of course is Liverpool fans possibly having to cheer on Man Utd to win a game.

Perish the thought.

I've had that 18 & 4 rammed down my thoart for enough years, we just can't do ANYTHING to allow those Scousers to get further away.

I was hoping Sir Alex to retire having matched (or beaten) that record, but I guess, it just wasn't to be.

Fair play to ya mate!

None of teh above matter because the league will be won by the time we play arsenal. Because they are in the FA semi's the match has been moved to May the 8th (I think) after the Cup Final and the match wont make any difference to the title race except that the Arse could be presented with the Premiership at OT(which is better that seeing it presented at Anfield)

Can anybody confirm the Arsenal date changed ? manut.com still shows date as 13th April. But even it it's on 8th May, it'll still count.

I agree.

I know what you say is true because I was at that game. I thought that was really fecking sad too.

Its a personal opinion but I could NEVER cheer on the opposition, not for any reason at all. I cheered for LIverpool that day and had a few rows with those wanting blackburn to win.

Remember Leeds beat Arsenal to hand Utd the title two seasons ago.
Football's not about throwing games, not in England anyway.

I was at that game too, and although the atmosphere was a strange one, not once did I hear anyone cheer Blackburn on, apart from the Blackburn fans, obviously.

Course, when the news filtered in of your result at West Ham....we celebrated a double victory.
