Is it?https://finance.yahoo.com/news/merger-between-nissan-honda-means-115441403.html

It's not a normal merger given the history of the two companies. Honda has been known for making some of the best engine technologies.Pretty standard in the automotive industry, no?
The Honda CEO specifically said that this merger is not to save Nissan which means it will be Honda leading the merger.Interesting. Nissan were in the shit. And Mitsubishi Motors is just a part of the Mitsubishi group.
Why sad? Would be more sad if Nissan had been allowed to go under.https://finance.yahoo.com/news/merger-between-nissan-honda-means-115441403.html

Would you ever want an accord to share the chasis with a maxima? Why sad? Would be more sad if Nissan had been allowed to go under.

Honda leading the merger, Mitsubishi Electric providing the batteries. Makes perfect sense. The Honda CEO specifically said that this merger is not to save Nissan which means it will be Honda leading the merger.
Given the history and rivalry of these automakers it is quite sad for me to see them merge. Why sad?
We see this happening all the time. Just a few years ago it was Fiat-Chrysler (which had just merged) merging with Peugeot to make Stellantis. And we also saw WV merging with Porsche.
Why would they become collectively shit, instead of collectively very good?It would pretty much spell the end of Japanese reliability.
They'll just rebadge that as NSX in some markets. Vtec just kicked in yoJust don't mess with the GTR
The CEOs themselves mentioned that the move is to compete against the Chinese automakers and to focus on electronification which leaves Mazda as the only competitor for Toyota. But as Mazda is too small to compete there's basically no reason for Toyota to continue making reliable vehicles. Why would they become collectively shit, instead of collectively very good?
That would be detrimental for Toyota in the international market. Especially in the North American market, they wouldn't want to go behind Ford and ChevroletThe CEOs themselves mentioned that the move is to compete against the Chinese automakers and to focus on electronification which leaves Mazda as the only competitor for Toyota. That's of course my opinion because I still value reliability the most over other things while purchasing a car.
Nissan surely make the ugliest cars out of the big manufacturers. The Duke and Qashqai are horrific looking. And the big EV SUV they make now is a monstrosity.
I do like the leaf though, one of the few practical affordable EVs throughout the last decade.
sorry, I’m sure it’s a great car, it’s just so ugly and massive. Also think Nissan make some of the worst interiors of the big manufacturers.
It’s lovely! I think the two tone versions are ugly as hell, especially the brand copper colour which is horrid. I’ve got it in pearl black and it looks great imo.sorry, I’m sure it’s a great car, it’s just so ugly and massive. Also think Nissan make some of the worst interiors of the big manufacturers.
Something about the massive front I don’t like. I’m probably biased as I generally detest all big SUVs anyway, except the Kia EV6, that’s a lovely looking big car. It’s lovely! The interior is great too, they’ve stepped it up massively from their other cars. It’s a ground up redesign, nothing like any of their other cars.
It's one of those cars that look nicer in person than it does in pictures. It’s lovely! I think the two tone versions are ugly as hell, especially the brand copper colour which is horrid. I’ve got it in pearl black and it looks great imo.
