Greatness ...... well about 10 games from it actua
...well so say 'The News of the World', apparently he does want to come to UTD (as we know) but he says that he wants a garantee of first team football week in week out as long as he is fit....

I think Fergie will offer him this and everthing will be sorted but it is also makes you think does this guy feel threatend by the likes of Gaz (at center back) O'Shay and Brown ???? If so then is he of the calibre we want, a solid and compantant leader at the back !!

Fergie will need to pay not less than 15mil to get him IMO ... and to spend that lot on a player - it's really not possible to leave him on the bench as long as he's fit ... think he will need less convicing on this. ... it's almost certain he will be the real STAM to lead the backline.

Sounds like an arrogant bastard to me...

I think he is more or less guaranteed a first team spot if he comes. Fergie would not want to spend that much on a player just to have him on the bench. Plus, Blanc is going so we need someone to come in.

Surely NO player can be guaranteed first team football? If you aren't performing to the highest standard, you don't play, no matter who you are.

Damn right, Fergie doesnt like fella's who think they have some God given right to be starting every week. Thats why he gives Beckham a little kick up the ass every year.

Don't know whats gonna happen this summer, but its gonna be a good one. Quite a few new players coming in - but does that mean we'll have another clear out ala Ince, Kancheskis and Hughes?

No, it's not the kind of right PR statements to make - not when you are 22 only anyway. It's not going to endear you to the fans.

Mr Hofland has made very ill-advised statements. If they are accurate quotes, I say forget him. We don't need his sort.

He'd better go to Real then coz they won't rotate him will they? arse'ole!

If what he's been quoted as saying is true then I hope SAF doesn't bother with him.
There are better defenders around and without the attitude.

I know Ayala is older but if United can get him I'd be delighted after seeing him play for Valencia several times recently. He's just the type of hard defensive lynchpin we could do with.

"I want to play every week when I'm fit and I shall tell the coach (Sir Alex Ferguson) when he phones," he said.
"If he doesn't guarantee me that, I'm not interested in his club."

I don't think what he says is all that bad! He's merely showing a desire to play, albeit an arrogant desire, but I'd rather have someone who wants to play every game than someone who wants to be rested due to being tired!!!

I think his choice of words could have been better but who knows how the NOTW interpreted them.

He's Dutch, he supposed to be full of himself. If he wasn't arrogant he could be mistaken for a Belgian.

He has a very big mouth, and we should forget him. Anyone coming to Manchester United has got to realise that he is coming to one of the biggest clubs in the World and if he is telling the manager what he should do, then he is just a wanker and we do not need him I say do not even consider him. Let him go to Juventus or Real Madrid and fight his career out in the courts over why he is not playing in every match. He sounds like an asshole to me. He should go straight into management, and we can all see how good his opinions are then. I call him Kevin feckoff

arrogant because he wants to play in every game and thinks hes good enuff for us?

thats confidence! bring him on!

Paul Keegan Hofland..... that would be fine!

Better then Kevin Jennifer Hofland anyways!!!

;)

Dutch confidence and self esteem is well known...

As long as he doesn't write a book he'll be fine...

I don't think that Fergie is a type of manager who will let player dictate the rules. I say forget about him and bring Mexes instead. Ayala or Tudor also because they have more experience or no one else. O'shea could do the job (although inexperienced :( )

I think if he really said so he is really very arrogant and impolite. I hope that it is only a misintepretation from the press. May be he's just saying that he'd like to play in every matches if he's fit, but then the press interpret it as he want a guarantee that he must play in every match. So I won't really take it serious until I hear it from his own mouth.

The other worry about Hoffland is he is reputed to be a piss artist. If that really is the case SAF won't sign him anyway.

If he really did say that then i say he is an inmature idiot!
Im sure if Fergie does pay £15m for him then he'll get as many games as Stam had - which is a lot.
It was a stupid and needless statement.
HEY KEVIN! DO U WANT £60,000 A WEEK OR NOT? YES?THEN JUST KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND WE'LL GIVE YOU WANT YOU WANT OK?!!!

Could this be another press job (ala Seba wanting to return to Lazio).

More like a cheap interpretator to me.
He probably said:"I wouldnt mind being a sub, as long as Fergie tells me to, it's for the good of the team."
Now that's what we want to hear! :D ;)

If that is his attitude then f*ck him, there's plenty of other defenders out there. I have only seen him play in the internationals against us and he wasn't exactly great. Bring in Chivu or Ayala, or both!! :D

Cool down mate ... I am quite sure he didn't say that ... If he is looking to leave PSV then there's probably no better team than Man Utd to almost guarantee his place in the team isn't it ... I mean, Arsenal aside ( which proabbly eagerly looking for a long term partner for Campbell ) ... Almost all other top clubs already have quite a stable CB partnership ... Hope it's not Arse really !!

In the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Hofland says he is investigating possible actions against NotW... He claims he has never even spoken to them.

He is pretty pissed off because this is the 4th time something like (some made up quotes) this happens to him in a Britisch tabloid...

It is in Dutch, but here's the link anyway...
