A Sunderland fan asked me about the game played at Roker Park in January 1975. I didn't go but he tells me that United, who filled grounds up and down the country, only managed a few thousnd for that game and he asked me if I knew the reason why. Trains broke down, strike action? I don't know the answer but perhaps someone on here with a good memory can tell us the answer.
