What do we think about signing Larsson? I personally dont think he would be interested but Fergie has chased him in the past.

I think he is cup-tied for the CL though?

Would he be a success in England though?

I am sure he would make it in the premiership, but I dont think he is likely to take the step. He says he is happy where he is and I reckon it would have to be a fantastic offer before he would move with wife & kids to a new place.

LARSSON!!!

I am sure it would be agreat signing as he proved it at the world cup by scoring a few.

Surely any chance of signing Larson has passed. Believe it or not he was actually getting criticism from parts of Parkhead during the first few games, culminating in his annoyance at being subbed in one of their SPL games. I know his goals record is superb but I think considering the serious injury he suffered a couple of years ago (I know people will mention RVN) and the fact he is not getting any younger would mean that SAF will not pursue him.

Agreed
we need an up and coming striker like Cisse

This is probably an inappropriate bump, but I can't resist. I was searching for a Larsson thread and found this gem from 2002.

Two points to note:

and the fact he is not getting any younger would mean that SAF will not pursue him

Despite the fact he signed on a loan some 4 years after this post it still shows that Sir Alex has always focused on bringing in (mostly) young players and developing them. Most of us know this. Many of those who occupy the transfer forum do not. Take heed.

I remember this character. Now I'm left asking who is Cisse? He had the funny hair right?

Up and coming is so objective and without intimate knowledge of a player you can't tell whether they'll develop into world class talents, or fall by the wayside. Again, this support the whole bringing Scholes' out of retirement [I suppose throwing in a youngster would be another argument as well] vs taking a temporary punt on a unknown quantity.

Aight....I'm done with bumping for today...

Apologies to the admins...
