I've noticed a few posters offering aid, money for shelters, rides etc. I've already lost track - I can't imagine viewing this forum in a war zone.

I'm sure we have Ukrainian members of this place and if they are looking for help it has to be easy to find.

I was thinking those posters who are able and willing to help could post here and we could get an idea who can help and where - hopefully our Ukrainian members and anyone viewing will see and get aid if they need.

Update - aggregating all the input into this post. I will keep updating this post as people update this thread and the main one.

@Sarni as I recall you were one such poster. I know there were a few more that I've lost track of in the thread.

@Sarni – offering transport from the border to Krakow and a place to stay

@Rajma – offering transport from the Polish border

This seems to be an aggregation of several charities ranging from military to humanitarian support.

World Central Kitchen - currently on the ground at a 24-hour pedestrian border crossing in southern Poland

Unicef UK

For gamers, all profits from This War of Mine will be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross [I believe this is time limited]: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/t...-profits-to-ukrainian-red-cross/1100-6501020/

Global Giving Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund

Canadian Red Cross

International Rescue Committee are hosting a Ukraine specific appeal at this page: Crisis in Ukraine Fund
Care are hosting a specific Ukraine refugee donation fund at this page: Ukraine Crisis Fund
British Red Cross have their own Ukraine fund here: Ukraine Crisis Appeal
Anyone with space in their homes and the will to house someone/people may also be interested in this site: https://www.refugeesathome.org/

The central bank setup a donation page to fund the military, it will be used to purchase weapons and equipment if you don't mind that.

UNHCR has individual campaigns set up where sometimes a company doubles the donation. If you are able to donate to one of those, there is a possibility the donation will end up being "quadrupled" in the end.
I found these two that match:

Think @Rajma was another one sorry if wrong, terribly tired and going to sleep.

Some members on this place doing gods work.

I'm not sure what I can do from here. Are there any bonafide/reputable organizations and Caf members are working with for refugees?

I wish the American people could donate some of their ungodly amounts of ammo/weapons to the cause.

I see that World Central Kitchen is at the Polish border feeding refugees.

Yeah if anyone needs a place to stay, a lift from the border to Kraków or thereabouts or anything I could help with, I’m right here.

I updated the OP based on input in this thread.

One thing crossed my mind - with the humanitarian crisis, are there any adoption agencies active that can link up orphans with families? How many children are going to lose not just home, but Mom and Dad as well...

Would also recommend UNICEF UK. They were the first to launch an appeal for Ukraine in the country and all their staff are on the ground as we speak.

Thank you for putting this together! The wife and I were looking for places to donate.

Tip: Look for donations set up by companies that pledge to match the total donated amount. That way your donation is "doubled" so to speak.

Could you link us some of these if you know of them please.

Putin is obviously taking over Ukraine, I think the best thing we can as normal people is to just try and help Ukraine as much as is possible for us.

Well in Sweden, the billionaire Roger Akelius has pledged to match all donations made to UNHCR and Unicef in the month of March. It is a bit unclear if this is only for donations coming from Sweden or globally.

UNHCR has individual campaigns set up where sometimes a company doubles the donation. If you are able to donate to one of those, there is a possibility the donation will end up being "quadrupled" in the end.

Thanks. I am still involved on this side of border, taking a buffer day today to sort out stuff at work, rest (I was out for 19 hours yesterday) and will be back at full force during weekend. I am trying to feel out which areas need addressing the most as there are thousands of people are helping here and would rather focus all my attention on areas that may still not fully work. So far I have been mostly engaged with transportation from the border (and to the border for whoever wants to go the opposite way), getting people through first days, giving some orientation. We are not at a point where we are taking refugees into our current home yet simply because we both work from home and when I'm not working, I'm out in the field (I did almost 1,000 km only yesterday, probably 3,000 since it started) so wouldn't feel right to me to leave my wife alone with that. We will probably get there eventually but so far we've been offering our current space to friends families without advertising externally. We got the other place though which will be for refugees and I'm speaking with my parents about getting more space.

What I will want to do longer term (talking couple of weeks though, not months) is to take in 2-3 families and offer them full-time assistance. Once the situation on the border eases, which I expect to happen in the next 2-3 weeks maximum, I will do exactly that. So basically rent them a place to stay long(ish) term, find them work, look after them for the next few months. In the meantime I'll also continue assisting foreign soldiers coming the opposite direction but will unfortunately have to be quite specific about who I assist as too many people are just trying to throw themselves into combat and I'm not going to facilitate any of that.

Financial side may be tough as I don't really make enough to support multiple families myself but I'll raise some funding among friends and family, so that combined with my own resources should be good enough. I have been trying to go through some organizations but they would mostly want me to do it full-time and I just can't.

Will Airbnb waive their ”service fee” in such cases?

Seems like it:

https://www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/airbnb-booking-ukraine-donate-b2030325.html

However this article suggests there might still be problems with the tactic. Basically, Air bnb is opaque when it comes to ownership. That means you might not always be sure of sending your money to a Ukrainian citizen, but might instead be unwittingly filling the coffers of some property management company that might not even be Ukrainian in origin. Basically try and make sure whoever you book with doesn't have multiple listings at different addresses.

Itch.io did one of these bundles for Syria previously and now it is back for Ukraine. Fantastic offer.

There is a solidarity demonstration with Ukraine at 14:00-16:00 in Piccadilly Gardens on Saturday. Maybe some can come down before the United match, as you will still be able to walk down to Old Trafford before 17:30.

It has been at the same time each of the last two weeks too.

May I suggest that anyone looking to host/be placed/knows someone needing to be placed in the UK "homes for Ukraine" scheme post here?

I am the former.

Two events this weekend in Piccadilly Gardens, including broadcast of concert on Sunday afternoon:

Would really like to try and help some of the refugees in London by perhaps teaching English to the kids or something. Or maybe mentoring. Just thinking of ways to help.
