I would like to know how veron played against Nigeria today as i am a lazy twat and i aint getting up that early to watch a bunch of argies.I would also like to know this... why isnt Riquelme in the argentina squad?

He was quite good, did exactly what he is meant to do for us but doesn't. :(

Without the ball help pressing, when the ball is taken back holding it up/advancing with it, setting up someone with a through ball, set pieces in general. He did just fine. It just looks so easy when he does it you don't even take notice of how effortlessly he makes a difference! :D

Riquelme is not there because Argentina has lots of players that can do that role. Riquelme has had a crap season. His brother was kidnapped so he was off the pitches for about a month. When back, discipline problems because he wanted out (sold to Europe to get family far from potential kidnappers). Then was played in the most important game Boca was playing in the whole year and managed to get himself sent off for punching the other player. <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

Not really looking like an ideal pick for the WC, does it?

shame about riquelme he has the potential to be a legend, he will move to barca in the summer for about 20mill which due to this could see Rivaldo moving to someone like Juventus. Anyone think Veron will stay IF we sign Nesta? its gona be good to see him in action on Monday.
 
Veron will stay at United regardless Nesta signs or not, he has already said as much about a hundred times.

Not sure about Riquelme, I think most scouts have picked on these issues (well, if I know it...).

Right now Boca are discussing a bid from Cruzeiro (Brazilian team) which is unlikely to be in the £20M region!(might be loan though, Boca can't afford his wages nor the indiscipline and way he is playing).

On indiscipline I have to say it is not a permanent problem though, it was just triggered by his personal problems and he will leave it behind sooner rather than later.

He played good in the first half especially! Some excellent through balls, however he never tracked back <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />
 
He didn't need to, Simeone does that as well as anyone in world football; and when you've got Zanetti and Sorin playing wing backs, Seba is basically free to do whatever he wants in the middle.

I know it's only one game but I find it hard to see how any team will break this team/formation down.
