Is he normal?
Ok lads, I'm hip hop lover but I've a likening for a broad spectrum of music. So I used to have a decent alternative rock collection but that drive crashed and listening to R.E.M Find the river reminded me how much I actually liked the genre. So can you suggest some songs (I'm not into getting albums :)) that are in a similar mold as find the river or chasing cars for example? I almost wanna call it 'lullaby rock' music. I'm not too clued up on what's out there so assistance is well appreciated!

You might like the band Live. I've got the best of album "Awake," and it's good.

Angels & Airwaves are good too, especially with headphones.
Blue October's Foiled album

That's actually all I can recommend. I don't seem to have much soft rock.

Biffy Clyro might be up your street. Especially 'God & Satan', I love that song. Quite a few others on the Only Revolutions album which are worth a listen.

"Alternative Rock" is such an insanely vague genre.

Like Sonic Youth, My Blood Valentine, The Replacements, Smashing Pumpkins, The Cure, The Smiths, Coldplay, My Chemical Romance have all been thrown into it, yet they are all widely different. Obviously I'd highly recommend the first 6, not so much the last two.
