Help identify a video game

Ok it was for the original Game Boy.

It's a shoot em up side-scroller, you're a little spaceman that flies around.

You could get upgrades for your gun.

I think it had 5 levels and a boss at the end of each level.

The final Boss was a dragon with a long neck.

It was a bit like metroid.

1 level there was a enemy space ship that you had to kill and the screen would scroll one way and then the other.

Any help please?

Sounds like a game called Abadox, but I only remember that on the NES. Unless it was released on the GB too?

Most of the people I've seen(and met) in the gaming industry look like students, despite being well over 30 if not 40 years old.

ah, it looks extremely similar but the final boss seems different and I don't think it had so many eyeballs either. And no signs of it ever being available on the Gameboy. Thanks anyway.

Any idea of similar, or total rip offs of Abadox or 'life force' for the Gameboy?

I seem to remember the spaceman had a pack on his back with 1 leg bent and the other straight and he could face both left and right

Just found the game, it was Burai Fighter Deluxe. Brilliant game.
