Help - driving to Old Trafford

Going to United v Southampton on Saturday week. I hear there are major roadworks in Manchester and I'm driving there :(
Anyone know good places to park? Quite near the ground would be good - prepared to get there early if necessary.

try parking near the Village pub. It's a bit of a walk, but it's easier to get out after.

I park near the Trafford park hotel about a 10 minute walk from here
Junction 9 off the M60 go right at the roundabout by the trafford centre right at next roundabout then about half a mile down this road on the right is the Trafford park hotel a big old looking building park in the carpark or on the side streets around the hotel

Cheers guys. I know where the Trafford Centre is and I'll be coming in from the Knutsford direction. Should be able to find the Trafford Park Hotel
Ta very much :)

The best thing to do is park up on the Lowry car park these days.

The car is safe and it's just a stroll across the new bridge to the ground.

Boozers nearby and no traffic jams on the way out.

When im driving up i have a top route which i discovered 2 seasons back which gets you a quick get away after the game with minimal traffic...

12 0.21MI 167.8MI 2h 40m 16s Exit M6 via entry/exit road at sign reading "Exit 19 A556 to Manchester and Airport / Stockport and M56 E" and go 0.2 miles

13 0.21MI 168.01MI 2h 40m 58s Continue on roundabout exiting on Chester Road, A556

14 4.13MI 172.14MI 2h 46m 50s Continue on Chester Road, A556 and go 4.1 miles

15 0.13MI 172.27MI 2h 47m 14s Continue over roundabout exiting on A56

16 4.53MI 176.8MI 2h 58m 55s Continue on A56 and go 4.5 miles

17 0.33MI 177.13MI 3h 0m 2s Turn right on Marsland Road, A6144 and go 0.3 miles

18 0.04MI 177.17MI 3h 0m 15s Turn right on Brooklands Road and go 200 feet

19 0.03MI 177.2MI 3h 0m 43s Turn right on Brooklands Station Approach and go 150 feet

once you get to the tram station park in thier carpark for free then get the tram to old trafford/trafford bar (if your meeting in the tollgate) and your there...

after the game do the reverse :)

Wow. I'm lost and I haven't even left the office yet!!!
Guess I could get me map out...

I'm no help with directions -- I go by bus from the city center when I'm over -- but have a great time!

Will do. Staying at a top hotel with leisure complex and spa faclities for a few days first. Little bit of spoling for myself and Mrs B - five years married you see. My present is the match. Sorted it out myself mind, the hotel etc was a sweetner! She'll not mind as long as Beckham plays though.
