I started a thread a few minutes ago, in this very forum; however, it does seem like it’s been deleted, albeit accidentally. Now if you’ll take the time to examine my concerns, I’d be greatly appreciative of your efforts.

As you well know, I’ve been a contributor to this forum for a good few years now and the Other Sports Forum, particularly has seen me play an integral role in discussion. When I logged in this evening, I was most aghast to see that my Private messaging facility has been taken away.

Now I’m well aware of the concern of PMs being used by members of other forums to poach talented posters off RedCafe and while I must admit, I am a member of many other forums, such as Maple Leafs and San Antonio Spurs, it never did cross my mind to poach any of RedCafe’s clientele to other discussion boards. I’d be quite glad to excuse any oversight on your part.

I look forward to having my Private Messaging facility restored.

I disagree Jacqueline. In fact I would say that you are extremely lucky not to be banned right now, though i may change my mind on that yet.
Not only did you put yourself forward as the candidate to try and 'poach' one of our members i have observed more than one post of yours which is derogatory against this board and its members. If you want to do that it is your perogative but dont whine about it when you lose privelages and/or your posting rights here.
 
A reminder:

* No Advertising - We work very hard to make Redcafe.net popular, do not plug your own website here, do it the hard way like the rest of us.
(This is not just ** but was introduced actually because of the amount of spam for other sites we were getting in the newbies in particular)

* Breaking the rules can lead to your posts being edited/deleted/closed. A temporary suspension of your account or account deletion.
 
It clearly does have something to do with us, if you're trying to steal our membership.

You didn't do it, and you wont, because you don't have your PMs

seriously, i didn't do it, and the point you pointed out doesn't equal to guilty.
 
we're not stealing membership because our members are quite free to post on your site, and therefore remain your members

while most posters lose their PMs for poaching other members, when Weaste did it he was appointed a mod...
 
and he was there when Slabber and Spoony drew up the initial invitation list. In fact he encouraged 'em.
 
It is not the policy of ** to deprive other internet forums of members, nor is it the policy of the said forum to try and harm the reputation of any other internet forum. We have no further comment on the matter.
 
That makes no sense

People are free to post on RedIssue and the caf, for example. If we found someone sending RedIssue invites via PM, to our members, we'd ban them. It has nothing to do with the site as a whole.

I never asked a single user (apart from the mods here). Period! I set up a forum that was supposed to provide a release from here, not to be a competitor to here.

Which we happen to know for a fact is just that, doesn't exactly help other people who may have a genuine cause for complaint.
Maybe those of you who are genuinely upset about losing your Personal Message privelages, need to have a think about who it is you should be upset with
