JF dropped a mega-hint after tonights game. If Barca bid, (dunno how much truth there is in their reported interest), he's a gonner.

I'd have him in any team of mine. There are very few players who always score 20-25 league goals a season. from free kicks, out side of the area, takes corners etc. Its a pity to think that players of this calibre are available and we still don't look signing another striker.

I would think most of our players are on as much or more than Hasselbaink.

He'd be fecking delighted to play here after missing out on the premiership so many times, finally making it into a G14 club, and to play alongside Ruud, his compatriot. I really doubt he'd be too unhappy, and he's not been a problem at Chelsea.

The people are reporting that hes been offered to us for 7.5mil  thats a steal even if he is a greedy cnut

We really should take advantage of the Rentboys financial plight. Gudjohnson and Hasselbaink are both on the market for about 10m each. Thats a steal at any age.

If that was true, which I doubt it is, then we should bite their hand off and get whichever we can, proven quality and bargain prices.

He's practically a Barca player now it seems. There were two other offers on the table, though I doubt we were one, and when he saw Barca was one he went for that one, the fee has been agreed (less than £15m!) and the wages, just the length of contract to be finalised. Though I suppose he ain't signed anything yet son. ;)

SkySports roundup of tabloid rubbish:
The People report that Manchester United turned down the chance to sign Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Sir Alex Ferguson is keen, however, on Spurs' Welsh international Simon Davies, according to the News of the World, and could take his Tottenham team-mate Neil Sullivan as cover for first-choice Fabien Barthez.

Title rivals Arsenal are interested in Derby defender Chris Riggott, who would cost them £3 million according to the People.

Southampton's England international left back Wayne Bridge is a target for Liverpool, but Saints are demanding £9 million for the 22-year-old after rejecting a £7 million bid, the Mirror report. If Gerard Houllier decides against increasing his offer, he will battle with rivals Everton for Ipswich's Hermann Hreidarsson.

Houllier could bid for PSV Eindhoven's Danish international Dennis Rommedahl after missing out on Blackburn's Damien Duff. But Liverpool will have to pay £8 million to sign the quick winger, they say.

And Patrik Berger could be on his way out of Anfield, according to the People. They think struggling Sunderland will offer £1.9 million for the little-used Czech.

Ambitious Cardiff could offer a lifeline to Leicester misfit Dennis Wise, according to the News of the World. Chairman Sam Hammam knows the former Chelsea captain from their England days.

Middlesbrough's top earner Alen Boksic could become the next striker to almost join Tottenham, according to the News of the World, possibly in a swap deal for one of the Spurs midfielders.

And another veteran who could be on the move before the transfer deadline is ex-Scotland captain Colin Hendry, who could be a target for Division One newcomers Reading.

But one player who it appears will not be moving before the August 31 deadline is Leicester midfielder Muzzy Izzet, despite the Foxes' financial predicament.

Chelsea still owe barca money for Petit and Zenden so its a good bit of business by Barca.

They knock what is owed off the Transfer fee.

The last time Van Gaal was manager there, there was a high number of Dutch players in his squad.

Saviola is still being nurtured so Jimmy would play with Kluivert.

He is to Spanish football what Wenger is to English.

ie. build a squad mainly out of players that have the same nationality as them.

Van Gaal said that he needed an out and out striker.. hence is interest in Jimmy.. he doesn't see Saviola and Kluivert as out and out finishers..

Gaspart said he has started talks with Jimmy. Not sure how legit that claim is but with Van Gaal at the helm and Chelseas' apparent debt to Barca, Id say this deal is more than likely.

Didn't Van Gaal say he would only return to Barcelona if Rivaldo and Kluivert were moved on?
Rivaldo has gone. Could it be possible that Hasselbaink is a replacement for Kluivert and that Kluivert is lined up to move to Old Trafford if United reach the Champions League group stage? That would be why Hasselbaink's 'move' to Barcelona, which will happen according to Sky Sports, hasn't been finalised yet.
Just thinking out loud...

Mine too. Only 4 days left so if anythings going to happen it will start from tomorrow and then get ready for loads of speculation.

Is Kluivert not cup tied in the CL?

Seems he's not going anywhere
