Last book in the series is coming out soon. The previous 6 have been entertaining reads I must say and I am a huge fan of the fantasy genre. With two films still set to come out it won't be the end of potter mania for a while but it was good to have a book become so popular in an age where reading stories seems an ancient pasttime.

Wrong.

It's as much for adults as it is for children.

Great series.

great, then i will catch up after ill finish pokemon.

i thought hp was for 8-14 year olds

No, otherwise they wouldn't market it with an adult cover as well as with a children's one.

HP is good fun.

Did you know that John McEnroe actually auditioned for the part that eventually went to Gary Oldman? Not a lot of people know that.

They called him back, and said "You cannot be Sirius".

21st of July is when its released, at 3am over here, which means probably midnight in the UK

That was so bad I had to laugh

The books were a good read and quite enjoyable till the Azkaban one, third one. After that they've been one pile of increasingly smelly dung after another. And the fact that there are a hundred loopholes in the storyline doesn't make it any better.

Will be reading the 7th only because I've read the previous 6.

I think I read the 3rd one when I was 14 or something....

so any predictions as to howit will all end? The most common one seems to be that harry will die while killing Voldemort. That would be a pretty lame ending imo though it would at least provide the closure of potter being dead. Howeverlike with sherlock holmes you never know

JK Rowling can't please anyone either way. If she kills Harry, all the fighting beforehand was pointless and for nothing. If she kills Voldemort it's too cliché seeing as how the "hero" comes out on top once again. If she kills them both... well I suppose that's still equally as lame as the first

He doesn't die

We will learn something very important about Lily:
Now, the important thing about Harry's mother - the really, really significant thing - you're going to find out in two parts. You'll find out a lot more about her in book five, or you'll find out something very significant about her in book five, and you'll find out something incredibly important about her in book seven." – J. K. Rowling
Rowling has long said that the fact that Harry has "his mother's eyes" is "very important."

So there you have it, Harry Potter is really his own Mother in a Starwars esque ending that sees him looking into the two way mirror and uttering the words "Harry... I am your Mother..."

Why not, shes copied pretty much every other cliche in the book.

I read that she wept after finishing a chapter of the book because it was so 'sad'. For feck sake they are only fictional characters.

I'm stealing that!

I'll sue. :)

It doesn't matter how cliched it is - Harry shouldn't die. It's a children's book, and kids want happy endings!

There has to be something about Neville too. It would be a bit pointless building up the story around him if it doesn't get elaborated upon.

And I wouldn't be surprised if there's not something about Snape ..... I'm sure there will be a twist there. If Snape is working for Voldemort, then that makes Dumbledore a very poor judge of character - and surely JKR wouldn't demean him in that way.

In fact, if Snape doesn't turn out to be totally innocent of every slur ever aimed at him, then I'll burn my books.

I hope snape kills Potter. It is pretty clear that Snape is evil, I don't understandwhy people want him to be a good guy.

Anyone seen the new film? Been invited to go and see it tommorow, is it worth £7.60?

lol I figured as soon as I posted but was too lazy to edit... The Prisoner of Azkaban movie was the worst by far in comparison to the book imo. I liked the first two, but as the books have got bigger, the editors have had to cut out more to fit the movie to a length which is watchable. The LOTR movies were 3 hrs long each and I wouldn't mind if the HP movies were that long if they stuck to the book a little more closely

I have no idea whats going to happen in the 7th book, but as someone said earlier I reckon something has to happen with Neville. I also think it will be Snape who helps Harry kill Voldemort, in turn getting killed himself. That will sign him off as a true good guy.

Rowling has already said there will be lots of deaths including 2 of the main characters. Voldemort and Snape?

I'd go with Harry and Voldemort. And maybe snape and Hagrid.

I'd say only one of Harry and Voldemort will die. But you never know. Hagrid is a good shout, that could definitely happen.

Hagrid will last he has been the favourite to die with the last couple of books and always survives.

I agree Harry and Voldemort will die I think Harry is a horcrux he will have to kill self. also Jo Rowling said in the interview with Jonathan Ross that Harry meets a defiant end which leads me to think he dies.

I've thought about Harry being a Horcrux but then decided against it because it seemed too obvious. There's gonna be a big twist that nobody saw coming hopefully.
