Hargreaves Linked With Man Utd
Tue 12th November 2002, 18:39

Bayern Munich young star Owen Hargreaves has been linked with Manchester United according to the German media.

The young England star has been linked with a number of English clubs ever since he got his first international cap.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Franz Beckenbauer have said publicly they do need to sell after the Germans dropped out of the champions league in the first round.

The Bayern Munich player said:’ It would be interesting for me to play in England.

"I would feel more at home there.

"I have a lot of fans (in England) and it's a bit peculiar when you're an English international and you don't play in England.''

Manchester United would see Owen Hargreaves as a perfect signing as the England international can play in a number of different positions.

The Red Devils will have to pay 7 million for Hargreaves when the transfer window reopens in January.

I think Hargreeves would be the kinda player we r looking for, someone who havs a competive nature like scholes, keane and butty. With the suspension of Roy and the injury to Butt Hargreaves would be perfect. Come January Keane and Butt will be back so i dont know if we would need him, saying that he could replace Neville at right back maybe :) . I think the 7million valuation they said is complete bollox, i think its gona take about 11 million to sign him.

He's crap isn't he Gazza? Can't cross, can't run with the ball, can't tackle, runs around like a headless chicken. feck knows how he gets in that German tem eh?

I'm not that high on Hargreaves, but at £7 million he'd be an excellent addition to the squad. He is a high energy type and can play anywhere across the midfield. And better judges of player than I rate him highly so he must have more than that going for him.

or the welsh team....or the german team....or the canadian team...oh that too, he's got no loyalty.

His family is Bolton fans I have read it before ... and according to he himself - his father will NEVER let him join Man Utd 'cos there was this FA Cup final which we have kicked Boltons As and hence broke the heart of old man ... I think the situation is Just a bit better than asking little Rooney joining the scousers :D ;)

evertonians are scousers, right?

Any point in Utd signing more midfielders? :)

Hargreaves <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" /> Overrated, average player imo

It's not often that Keane, Butt and Stewart are all injured at the same time. Depth in midfeld is lacking only on the wings. Players returning from injury will fix the rest.

Which FA Cup Final. The only time we met there was 1958 and they won. The old man might have been upset because most neutrals wanted United to win, post Munich and all that.

Fecking 'ell. Considering the amount of teams we've kicked arse specially in the last 10 years, it's no wonder there are so many ABUs.
