Fantastic two goals he scored in his debut for Schalke. The kid seems to be drawing more and more Matheus comparisons. Defo one to keep an eye on. :)

Matthäus comparisons after one match .... <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

It's no different than Timmy Howard being talked up for the United job after one or two starts. ;)

He's Schalke's 20 year old midfielder who scored two amazing goals against Dortmund in his debut. He also has a twin who plays for Kaiserslautern if I'm not mistaken.

Well, it is. You´re comparing a 20 year old who´s played 1 Bundesliga match to one of the greatest midfielders of recent time.

The only point where a comparison is valid is when you compare their interviews. Altintop speaks German as well as Matthäus does.

He´s playing for the Turkish U21.

Replacement for Lass. Versatile, low wages and won't complain as much about not playing

Will he be another Pedro Leon?

They have far far too many players in midfield.

Lass, Altin, Khedira, Sahin, Ozil, Kaka, Leon, Granero, Alonso and Gago. Seriously, what the hell?

I think Real are beginning to see the light with regards to the large squad system. There's only so many Galacticos available. Also reckon there's a few on their way out.

A lot more than just a few! I forget the other Diarra as well. So they basically have 11 midfielders in their squad right now

Atleast 4-5 of them must surely be on their way out.

You forgot Canales.

Lass, Kaka & Gago are probably all gone in the summer.

Right. So it's

Lass, Altin, Khedira, Sahin, Ozil, Kaka, Leon, Granero, Alonso,Canales, M.Diarra and Gago

Pick about 5 of them. The Diarras are definetly gone.

You've got to love Madrid.

Their 3 year plan:

Summer 1:
Buy U, W, X, Y and Z

Summer 2:
Buy A, B, C and D
Sell U, Y and Z

Summer 3:
Buy H, I, J and K
Sell W, X, C and D.

One defensive midfielder, one harrier, two energetic all-rounders, three holding midfielders, three attacking midfielders. I don't think Pedro Leon's a midfielder is he? I thought he played wide.

Mahamadou Diarra's surely gone if a decent offer comes in, there still seems to be a possibility Lass could go, Granero could possibly be going as Altintop does a similar job in my view, Gago's in the same boat with Sahin in, Kaka could definitely go if a decent offer comes in...it's not so bad in that case. It'd be pretty unusual to see that many leave in one go though.

Lass; Altintop, Khedira (+Granero); Alonso, Sahin; Ozil, Canales (+Kaka).

Diarra went in January and Lass has told hem he wants to leave.
Gago's gone as soon as they can get someone to buy him.
Leon has probably gone too, "didn't adapt to life in a big club/city" as the press phrase it.

Granero, they'll give time. He's cheap and he's from their academy. I doubt if he'll ask for a move. Canales may go out on loan.

The Madrid team's very young, I think Altintop is just a cheap way of offering an experienced option for particular types of game.

What the hall happened to Lady Gago? he seemed to disappear altogether.

Not good enough to be a first choice and in and out of the injury room - Mourinho's even called him up to the squad a few times this year, but lost him before the game.

Shame, I thought he looked a decent CM a couple of seasons ago.
